Narrative
AFTER LNDG ON RWY 18 AT TLH; I MADE A L TURN ONTO TXWY M AND A L ONTO TXWY Z. I HAD NEVER BEEN TO TLH; BUT MY COPLT HAD BEEN MANY TIMES AND ALSO HAD THE TAXI CHART CLIPPED TO HIS YOKE. I DID NOT NOTICE THE NOTATION ON THE CHART LIMITING THAT PORTION OF TXWY Z TO 50 FT WING SPANS (I WAS 65 FT). I DID SEE THE SIGN THAT SAID 'SMALL GA ACFT ONLY' AND STOPPED. THE PROB IS; AT THAT POINT ON THE TXWY WERE THE SIGN BECOMES VISIBLE; THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM FOR A LARGE ACFT TO TURN AROUND. TO FURTHER COMPLICATE THE MATTER; THE TAXI CHART IS NOT ACCURATE. TXWY Z FORMERLY RAN BTWN TXWY F AND TXWY K. THE CHART SHOWS NO PAVEMENT THERE; BUT THE TXWY CLRLY REMAINS. THE ONLY THING TO ALERT YOU THAT IT IS A CLOSED TXWY IS A CONFUSINGLY PLACED SIGN WITH MARKINGS THAT ARE UNKNOWN TO ME AND A BROKEN TAXI LIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TXWY. LINE PERSONNEL AT THE FBO TOLD ME THE LIGHTS ARE CONTINUALLY BROKEN BY ACFT TAXIING OVER THEM; AS I NEARLY DID. IT IS SUCH A FREQUENT OCCURRENCE THAT THE LINE PERSONNEL ACTUALLY TRIED TO MARSHALL ME ONTO THE CLOSED PORTION OF TXWY Z. THE CHART SHOWS YOU TO BE ON THE FBO'S RAMP; BUT THE GND CTLR HANDLES YOU AS IF YOU ARE STILL IN HIS MOVEMENT AREA.
