RWY INCURSION BY A COMMERCIAL MERLIN III PLT TAXIING ON SNOW COVERED RWYS AND TXWYS AT TYS; TN.

Narrative

I WAS CLRED TO TAXI FROM FBO VIA TXWY A. R ON TXWY A4; CROSS RWY 5 ; R TAXI; TO RWY 5L. I TURNED R ON TXWY A4 AND WAS NOT SURE WHEN I CROSSED RWY 5 R; BECAUSE NO SNOW HAD BEEN REMOVED FROM THAT RWY. WHEN I LOOKED AT THE ARPT DIAGRAM ON THE APCH PLATE; I DID NOT NOTICE TXWY B. I THOUGHT I WAS TO CROSS RWY 5L AND TAXI SW ON THE TXWY ALONG THE NW SIDE OF RWY 5L. WHEN I CROSSED RWY 5L; I NOTICED AN AIRPLANE ON FINAL; AND I KNEW THAT WAS NOT RIGHT. I SHOULD HAVE STUDIED THE ARPT DIAGRAM MORE CLOSELY; AND I WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO USE TXWY B. IT WAS VERY COLD AND I STARTED MY ENGS AND CALLED GND BEFORE I WAS REALLY READY. FROM NOW ON; I WILL ASK FOR PROGRESSIVE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS WHEN I AM AT AN UNFAMILIAR ARPT. I DON'T THINK THE GND CTLR SAID ANYTHING ABOUT TXWY B; BUT I COULD BE WRONG. THE BIG PROB WAS THAT I HAD A TAXI RTE PLANNED IN MY HEAD THAT WAS NOT RIGHT. I WAS IN A HURRY; AND THERE WAS ICE AND SNOW. I HAVE BEEN TO 3 SAFETY MEETINGS ON RWY INCURSIONS; AND DIDN'T THINK I COULD BE SO STUPID.
