IN AN EFFORT TO EXPEDITIOUSLY CLR THE RWY AT MYF AFTER TOUCHDOWN; A C90 PLT MISTAKENLY TURNED OFF ONTO ANOTHER RWY.
Narrative
AFTER AN ILS APCH TO RWY 28R AT MYF I WAS IN A HURRY TO CLR THE ACTIVE BECAUSE OF A CITATION JET THAT I HAD BEEN TOLD WAS TO FOLLOW. I TURNED L ON RWY 23 AND ASKED FOR PERMISSION TO TAXI TO FBO. TWR CLRED ME TO TAXI AS REQUESTED. I MISTAKENLY TURNED L ON RWY 28L INSTEAD OF THE PARALLEL TXWY. THE TWR INFORMED ME OF MY MISTAKE AND I TAXIED CLR. I BELIEVE THAT THE BIGGEST FACTOR IN THE MISTAKE WAS FATIGUE. THE DECISION TO GO WAS LAST MIN. MY SON HAD TO GET TO A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT AT XD00 THE NEXT MORNING IN SAN DIEGO. WHEN I CALLED FSS FOR WX; I WAS TOLD THE FORECAST FOR THE MORNING WAS 200 FT OVCST 1/2 MI VISIBILITY IN MIST. I WAS ALSO MISINFORMED THAT THE ILS RWY 28R WAS OTS. BASED ON THIS INFO AND THE FACT THAT MYF WAS FORECAST TO BE CLR THAT EVENING I DECIDED TO GO EVEN THOUGH I HAD BEEN UP AT XA00 THAT MORNING. AS IT TURNS OUT THE WX WAS NOT CLR AND THE ILS WAS NOT OTS; THE DME ON THE ILS WAS. ON APCH I WAS ASKED BY THE CTLR AT LEAST 3 TIMES FOR MAX FORWARD SPD FOR A CITATION JET TO FOLLOW. I BELIEVE I RELAXED MY VIGILANCE AFTER A LATE NIGHT ILS APCH TO A RELATIVELY SHORT RWY. ALSO RWY 28L IS A NARROW UNLIT RWY THAT PARALLELS THE TXWY. I BELIEVE THE BEST WAY TO AVOID THIS SIT IS TO NOT FLY WHEN TIRED. KNOWING THAT THIS IS NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE IF FACED WITH SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES; I WILL MAINTAIN THE HEIGHTENED STATE OF AWARENESS I HAD ON APCH UNTIL THE ACFT IS IN THE TIE DOWNS.
