Narrative
LANDED ON RWY 20R. LNDG LIGHT INOP ON ACFT AT THIS POINT. GND CLRED ME RAMP VIA TXWY F TO TXWY A. TAXIING ON TXWY A (NE) UPON XING RWY 27/9; THERE WERE NO VISIBLE LIGHTS ON R SIDE OF ACFT FOR ABOUT 250-325 FT. THERE WERE ALSO NO VISIBLE LIGHTS (TAXI; OR VISIBLE MARKER SIGNS) FOR 300-350 FT AT LEAST. WAS EXTREMELY DARK. UPON NOTICING I WAS ON SOFT TERRAIN; REACHED TO CUT PWR; NOSE WHEEL SUNK IN MUD AND STRUCK CONCRETE EDGE RESULTING IN NOSE GEAR SHEARING OFF AND PROP STRIKING GND. NOTIFIED PDK GND (TWR) OF INCIDENT. 3 OTHER PAX WITH ME. ALL 3 ALSO NOTICED IT WAS EXTREMELY DARK. UPON EXITING ACFT AND TALKING TO ARPT SECURITY; IT WAS REALIZED THAT TXWY A SHIFTS OVER TO THE E (R) AS IT CROSSES RWY 27/9. THERE ARE NO VISIBLE MARKERS OR LIGHTS REMOTELY CLOSE BEFORE OR AFTER THIS OCCURS. ALSO DISCOVERED THIS HAS HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AT THE SAME SPOT. I BELIEVE THIS OCCURRED MAINLY BECAUSE OF IMPROPER LIGHTING ON THE FIELD. CORRECTIVE ACTION SHOULD BE TO INSTALL CTRLINE TAXI LIGHTS FROM WHERE THE BLUE EDGE LIGHTS END AND BEGIN. THIS AREA OF THE FIELD IS EXTREMELY DARK WITH NO BUILDINGS OR EXTERNAL LIGHTS NEARBY.
