Narrative
IN ROA; WE WERE GIVEN AN EXTENDED DEP DELAY TO DEST; DUE TO WX IN DEST. WE (CREW) DECIDED TO GO INTO ROA OPS AND TO COMPLY WITH COMPANY POLICY. THE NOSE GEAR PIN WAS INSERTED PRIOR TO PWRING DOWN THE ACFT. ON THE ENSUING DEP FROM ROA; THE NOSE GEAR PIN WAS OVERLOOKED ON DEP. UPON GEAR RETRACTION; WE GOT A 'NOSE GEAR DOOR DISAGREEMENT' WARNING AND GEAR POS INDICATOR WAS IN AGREEMENT WITH AURAL AND DISPLAYED WARNING MESSAGE. FLT CTL RADIO WAS VERY BUSY. NEEDING TO MAKE A DECISION; WE RADIOED ROA OPS TO CALL FLT OPS AND MAINT CTL AND ADVISE OF SIT. ROA OPS ADVISED US THAT FLT CTL AND MAINT CTL WANTED US TO RETURN TO ROA. WE HAD TO HOLD FOR 45 MINS TO BURN FUEL OFF TO COMPLY WITH MAX LNDG WT. IN THE MEANTIME; COMPLIED WITH COMPANY QRH PROCS. LANDED WITH NO FURTHER PROBS. THE CAPT CONTACTED MAINT CTL AND FLT OPS. WE WERE RERELEASED TO ATC. DEPARTED WITH NO FURTHER PROBS. I; BEING A NEW FO; AND NEW COMPANY POLICY REQUIRING PINNING NOSE GEAR ON PWR DOWN AND DELAYS WITH ATC AND WX; COUPLED WITH DEICING IN PROGRESS; FAILED TO CATCH THE FLAG ON THE GEAR PIN ON WALKAROUND PRIOR TO REBOARDING.
