AN RV-8 PLT INADVERTENTLY ENTERED THE NY ADIZ.

Narrative

I OBTAINED A STANDARD BRIEFING FROM A PRIVATE WX SERVICE. I DID RECEIVE NOTAMS; INCLUDING TFR'S. I UNDERSTOOD (INCORRECTLY) THAT THE BRAND NEW NY ADIZ COVERED THE LATERAL LIMITS IN THE CLASS B UP TO FL180. I'M FLYING N AND W AROUND THE CITY (VFR); I WAS EXTRA CAREFUL TO REMAIN CLR OF THE CLASS B AND UTILIZED THE MOVING MAP ON MY GPS TO VISUALIZE THE OUTER BOUNDARY. WHEN I LANDED IN DELAWARE I WAS ASKED FOR MY N-NUMBER AND TOLD THAT DOVER APCH HAD REQUESTED IT. I CALLED DOVER AND WAS TOLD THAT AN UNNAMED NATIONAL DEFENSE ORGANIZATION HAD WANTED ME TRACKED. I CALLED THEM AND WAS TOLD THAT NY APCH HAD INITIATED THE WHOLE THING. I CALLED NY APCH AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY HAD TRACKED ME OUTSIDE OF THE CLASS B; BUT SLIGHTLY WITHIN THE 30 MILE MODE C VEIL; WHICH WAS/IS THE ACTUAL LATERAL BOUNDARY OF THE NEW NY ADIZ. I WAS SHOCKED; DISMAYED; CHAGRINED AND ASHAMED TO HAVE COMMITTED SUCH AN INCURSION; HOWEVER; INADVERTENTLY. I COULD AND SHOULD HAVE AVOIDED THE INCURSION BY EITHER FILING A VFR FLT PLAN AND/OR ENGAGING FLIGHT FOLLOWING. I WILL WITHOUT EXCEPTION; ALWAYS UTILIZE A VFR FLT PLAN WITH FLT FOLLOWING IN THE FUTURE. I'M VERY; VERY SORRY THAT THIS HAPPENED.
