A B222 EMS HELI PLT IS CONCERNED WHEN OPERATING NEAR TWRS.

Narrative

ON APR/THU/03 AT APPROX XA00 HRS; I WAS DISPATCHED TO XXX US FROM YYY US HOSPITAL. THE SCENE WAS APPROX A 248 DEG HDG AT APPROX 13 MI FROM HOSPITAL. AFTER LIFTOFF; I CONTACTED APCH FOR FLT FOLLOWING. PRIOR TO CONTACTING APCH; I LISTENED ATIS AND THE APCH FREQ; AND OBTAINED TFC WAS DEPARTING RWY 29. IN ORDER TO KEEP TFC FLOWING IN AN ORDERLY MANNER; I INFORMED ATC I WOULD MAINTAIN 800 FT MSL ENRTE TO THE SCENE. WHILE ENRTE TO THE SCENE; I OBSERVED THE RADAR ALTIMETER SHOWING OUR AGL ALTITUDE WAS GETTING LOWER DUE TO THE RISING OF THE TERRAIN. I OBSERVED THE RADAR ALTIMETER SHOWING AN ALT OF 300 FT AGL; WHICH IS WITHIN OUR OPERATING LIMITS OF MY COMPANY'S OPERATING MANUAL. UPON NOTICING THE ALT BEING RIGHT AT THE BASE OF OUR OPERATING LIMIT; I ADJUSTED MY INDICATED ALT TO 900 FT MSL; WHICH GAVE ME A RADAR ALTIMETER READOUT OF 400-500 FT AGL FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE FLT. IT SHOULD BE NOTED; WHILE LNDG AT THE FIRST DISPATCHED SCENE; I HAD TO MANEUVER AROUND ANTENNAS AT THE LNDG AREA. IT SHOULD BE NOTED; A FIRE DEPT WAS PRESENT AT OUR LNDG AREA; AND SECURED THE AREA FOR OUR LNDG. AFTER LNDG AT THE FIRST LNDG ZONE; IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT HOSPITAL DISPATCH HAD SENT OUT THE WRONG INFO ABOUT THE LNDG ZONE. AFTER RECEIVING THE CORRECT INFO; WE PROCEEDED TO THE CORRECT LNDG ZONE; APPROX 3.5 MI NE OF THE FIRST DISPATCHED LOCATION. IT SHOULD ALSO BE NOTED; I HAD TO MANEUVER AROUND ANTENNAS AT THIS LNDG ZONE ALSO; TO MAKE A SAFE LNDG.
