FILED IFR FROM EYQ -- PSX -- CRP -- 67R. RECEIVED CLRNC FROM HOUSTON TRACON ON THE GND AT EYQ AFTER CHKING WX AND NOTAMS. CHKED CURRENT BROWNSVILLE SECTIONAL; NO INDICATION OF ARPT CLOSED. CHKED LOW ALT ENRTE CHART; NO INDICATION OF ARPT CLOSED. CALLED MONTGOMERY FSS TO CHK NOTAMS; NONE RPTED FOR 67R. INBOUND TO ARPT; BELOW 3000 FT MSL; LOST CONTACT WITH CTR. WHILE APCHING ARPT; TRIED TO CONTACT UNICOM ON 122.9. SET UP FOR L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 15. THERE WAS A TRUCK ON THE RWY. NOTICED NO RWY MARKINGS; CTRLINE OR NUMBERS. LANDED THE AIRPLANE WITHOUT INCIDENT. WAS NOTIFIED ARPT CLOSED. THERE WAS NO 'X' ON THE RWY TO INDICATE SO. RELAYED TO A LEAR JET TO REQUEST THAT THEY CLOSE OUR IFR FLT PLAN WITH CTR; AND TO NOTIFY THEM THAT WE HAD LANDED AT RWY 67R. RECEIVED VERBAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FROM THE LEAR THAT OUR FLT PLAN WAS CLOSED. AFTER LEARNING OF ARPT CLOSURE; CONTACTED THE OWNER OF THE FLT SCHOOL FOR GUIDANCE. HE CONTACTED MONTGOMERY FSS. AGAIN; NO NOTAMS WERE ISSUED. HOWEVER; THE SUPVR POINTED TO A NOTE IN THE AFD REGARDING THAT THE ARPT WAS 'CLOSED INDEFINITELY. CLOSED SS-SR.' I REFERRED TO MY CURRENT AFD; AND REALIZED THAT IT DID; INDEED; SAY THAT. IF I HAD KNOWN THE ARPT WAS CLOSED; I WOULD NOT HAVE LANDED THERE; BUT WOULD HAVE LANDED MFE INSTEAD. LEFT 67R APPROX XA00; AND RETURNED TO EYQ.
