Narrative
LANDED AT TRENTON - ROBBINSVILLE ARPT TO GET A FLT PLAN TO ENTER THE NY TFR. RECEIVED FLT PLAN AND TOOK OFF TO ACTIVATE IN THE AIR. HAD TROUBLE SPEAKING WITH APCH CTL; BUT FINALLY GOT THEM AND RECEIVED XPONDER CODE; WAS TOLD I WAS ALREADY INSIDE THE 30 MILE TFR. THEN PROCEEDED AT 3500 FT OVER NJ; TOWARDS THE HUDSON RIVER. WAS TOLD TO STAY AT 3500 FT TO CLR TEB AIR TFC. WAS HANDED OVER TO ANOTHER CTLR; WHICH I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND. I HEARD THE OTHER ACFT; BUT NOT THE CTLR TOO WELL. AT THIS POINT; I WAS TOLD TO CALL A NUMBER WHEN I LANDED. I WAS TOLD THAT MY XPONDER WAS NOT WORKING THE LAST 6 MILES GOING TOWARD THE RIVER. I FINALLY LANDED AT MY SEAPLANE BASE 6N6 (EVERS SEAPLANE BASE) ON THE WATER. THEY COULDN'T UNDERSTAND THAT I WAS LNDG IN THE WATER EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM I WAS A SEAPLANE. HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE LAKE AMPHIBIAN XPONDER ANTENNA IS LOCATED ON A BAD SPOT ON THE WING AND SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT SEND A GOOD SIGNAL (BLOCKED BY WING FLOAT) IN CERTAIN CONDITIONS. I KNEW I WAS WRONG AFTER ENTERING THE TFR; BUT THE CTLR SAID TO KEEP GOING ON A HDG AND I THOUGHT I WAS OK AFTER THAT UNTIL HE TOLD ME TO CALL THE FAA WHEN I LANDED. I HOPE TO CHANGE TO A DIFFERENT XPONDER SET SO THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. ALSO I'M MAINLY A SEAPLANE PLT AND HAVE LITTLE EXPERIENCE IN THIS TYPE OF FLT PLAN TFR. I PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED SOME INSTRUCTION BEFORE I TRIED TO DO THIS. WAS JUST TRYING TO GET HOME.
