Narrative
ON 04/SUN/03; AT APPROX XA00 HRS; I DECIDED TO TAKE MY PLANE FOR A QUICK TOUCH AND GO TO KEEP THE FLUIDS DRY AND THE ENGINE EXERCISED. I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK SO I ONLY HAD 30 TO 45 MINS TO FLY. AS THE CONDITIONS WERE CLR WITH UNLIMITED CEILINGS; I DID NOT CALL FOR WX -- I ALMOST ALWAYS DO; EVEN FOR TOUCH AND GO'S. ON ARR AT THE ARPT I WENT DIRECTLY TO MY AIRPLANE WITHOUT ENTERING THE FBO. I SPOKE BRIEFLY TO AN FBO EMPLOYEE WHO SAID HE WISHED HE COULD GO WITH ME AS IT WAS A NICE DAY. I DID A FULL CHECK OF THE PLANE (NOT FLOWN IN 4 WKS) AND I TOOK OFF FOR ONE TOUCH AND GO. AFTER MY TOUCH AND GO; THE FBO CALLED FOR MY CALL SIGN; WITHOUT STATING WHY. ON LNDG; THE SAME EMPLOYEE WHO I HAD SPOKEN TO BEFORE TOLD ME TO CALL TRACON ABOUT A RECENT CHANGE IN THE ADIZ THAT EXTENDED TO PRINCETON. I WAS NOT AWARE OF THAT AND HAD RECEIVED NO NOTIFICATION OF THAT. ONCE IN THE FBO I SAW SIGNS ABOUT THE ADIZ; BUT NO SIGNS WERE POSTED OUTSIDE. WHILE I WAS SQUAWKING 1200 I WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A FLT PLAN AND DISCRETE SQUAWK FOR EVEN A TOUCH AND GO. I DID NOT LEAVE THE ARPT AREA DURING MY ONE TOUCH AND GO; NOR DID I CLB ABOVE 1200 FT MSL. ON LATER MEASURING THE DISTANCE FROM PRINCETON TO NEWARK; I FOUND THE DISTANCE WAS RIGHT AT 30 MILES; INDICATING THAT I SHOULD HAVE FILED A FLT PLAN; EVEN FOR ONE TOUCH AND GO. I WILL NOT REPEAT THIS BEHAVIOR.
