Narrative
DEPARTED CHS WITH 10000 LBS OF FUEL AND MATH SHOWED LNDG IN IAH WITH 3400 LBS. ENRTE WE DEVIATED SEVERAL TIMES AROUND TSTMS AND HEADWINDS WERE 30-35 KTS STRONGER THAN FORECAST. ENRTE ATC DSNDED US EARLY AND FUEL AT LNDG NOW SHOWED 2000 LBS. ON THE ARR INTO IAH; ATC PULLED US OFF ARR SEVERAL TIMES FOR SPACING AND SLOWED US TO 250 KIAS. FUEL AT LNDG NOW SHOWED 1900 LBS. DECLARED MINIMUM FUEL WITH ATC; CONTACTED DISPATCH VIA ACARS WITH TIME ENRTE AND FOB; AND SET UP FOR LONG RANGE CRUISE. WITH SLOWER AIRSPD; ATC INFORMED US THAT WE EITHER NEEDED TO KEEP 250 KIAS OR THEY WOULD HAVE TO PLACE US IN A HOLDING PATTERN. WE INCREASED TO 250 KIAS AND FUEL AT LNDG SHOWED 1800 LBS. SENT ACARS TO DISPATCH UPDATING SIT AND CONSIDERED DIVERTING TO BPT FOR FUEL. WHILE CONSIDERING DIVERSION; HYD #2 LOW QUANTITY APPEARED ON EICAS AND POINTER ON HYD MFD PAGE WAS AMBER. TOLD ATC THAT WE WERE NOW DEALING WITH HYD PROB; AND AT THAT POINT; THEY DECLARED EMER FOR US. WE CONTACTED IAH MAINT FOR HYD PROB AND THEY INFORMED US THAT EVERYTHING SHOULD WORK AS NORMAL AS LONG AS WE DID NOT LOSE HYD PRESSURE. THERE WAS NO QRH ITEM FOR LOW HYD QUANTITY. INFORMED FLT ATTENDANT OF SIT AND ADVISED HER THAT IF THE SIT BECAME WORSE THAT I WOULD CALL HER BACK. ATC THEN GAVE US DIRECT TRANN WHICH IS THE IAF FOR ILS RWY 27 AT IAH. RAN IN RANGE AND APCH CHKLISTS. LANDED AT IAH AND TAXIED TO GATE WITHOUT INCIDENT. FUEL AT GATE WAS 2600 LBS. MAINT MET THE ACFT AND I WAS INFORMED THAT HYD FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE R MAIN AND WHEEL BRAKES.
