AFTER LNDG AND DURING ROLLOUT ON RWY 22L AT EWR; TWR INSTRUCTED US TO 'EXIT AT THE HIGH SPD.' HIGH SPD TXWY N WAS CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION; SO WE EXITED R ON HIGH SPD TXWY V. WHILE CLRING RWY 22L AT HIGH SPD TXWY V; TWR INSTRUCTED US TO 'TURN L ONTO TXWY P AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 22R AT TXWY PB.' WHILE TRYING TO IDENT TXWY P; OUR ACFT TAXIED ACROSS THE RWY 22R HOLD SHORT LINE ON TXWY V. OUR ACFT STOPPED WELL SHORT (APPROX 50 FT) OF THE PAINTED EDGE OF RWY 22R. TWR OBSERVED WE WERE HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 22R AT TXWY V AND TOLD US WE WERE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO TAKE TXWY P TO 'PB' AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 22R AT 'PB.' TWR THEN TOLD US TO TURN L (ABOUT A 120-150 DEG TURN) ON TXWY P AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 22R AT TXWY PB; WHICH WE PROCEEDED TO DO. FACTORS I CONSIDER TO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO TAXIING ACROSS RWY 22R HOLD SHORT LINE ON TXWY V INCLUDE: 1) ABSENCE OF CLRLY MARKED; VISIBLE TXWY SIGNS IDENTING TXWY P WHEN EXITING RWY 22L AT HIGH SPD TXWY V. 2) A LOT OF CONSTRUCTION ON AND SW OF TXWY N BTWN RWYS 22L AND 22R. 3) TXWY P SW OF TXWY V AND TXWY PB E OF RWY 22R ARE NOT DEPICTED ON THE FMII EWR 10-9 ARPT DIAGRAM PAGE DATED OCT/XA/02. THERE WERE NO NOTAMS ISSUED CONCERNING THIS EXTENSION OF TXWY P EITHER. IT APPEARED TO BE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED AND OPENED. 4) VERY SHORT TAXI DISTANCE BTWN EXITING RWY 22L AT TXWY V AND THE L TURN REQUIRED TO TAXI ONTO TXWY P.
