Synopsis

FLT CREW OF B735 DEPARTED WITHOUT OBTAINING FINAL WEIGHT MANIFEST NUMBERS FROM LOAD PLANNING. FLT WAS IRREGULAR OP AFTER A WX DIVERSION.

Narrative

DURING THE LEG FROM ZOA TO SFO FOLLOWING A WX DIVERT; ZOA OPS FAILED TO FINALIZE THE NUMBERS IN THE COMPUTER PRIOR TO OUR DEP; WHICH LED THEM TO BELIEVE THAT WE HAD DEPARTED WITHOUT OBTAINING THE PROPER WEIGHT AND BALANCE FIGURES. SINCE WE WERE NOT ALLOWED TO DEPLANE PAX; WE OBTAINED THE PLANNED WEIGHT MANIFEST FROM ZOA OPS DURING THE PREFLT PHASE; AND FUELED TO THE AMOUNT SHOWN ON THE FLT PLAN AND THE PLANNED WEIGHT MANIFEST. WE HAD THE FINAL NUMBERS TO DEPART -- NOTHING COULD HAVE CHANGED. UNFORTUNATELY; WHAT I FAILED TO REALIZE IS THAT WHEN THE LOAD PLANNER CLOSES OUT THE FLT WITH THE 'FINAL WEIGHTS;' THE RPT AUTOMATICALLY SENDS THE FINAL NUMBERS TO THE COMPANY COMPUTER ON THE ACFT. WE DISCUSSED IT PRIOR TO DEP; THAT WE HADN'T RECEIVED THE NUMBERS YET; WHEN I BELIEVED THAT WE HAD THE FINAL NUMBERS AND THAT OPS JUST PROBABLY FORGOT TO SEND THEM. AFTER AIRBORNE; ZOA DISCOVERED THAT WE HAD LEFT AND CALLED DISPATCH TO RPT THAT WE HAD DEPARTED WITHOUT FINAL WEIGHTS. IT'S A TECHNICALITY THAT I FAILED TO REALIZE; BUT DID NOT COMPROMISE SAFETY OF FLT.
