BE10 PLT DEPARTED OFF AN UNCTLED ARPT AND APPARENTLY ENTERED THE CLT CLASS B AIRSPACE BEFORE RECEIVING AN IFR CLRNC.
Narrative
LANDED AT EQY TOLD APCH CTLR THAT I WAS DROPPING OFF AND COMING RIGHT BACK OUT. HE SAID; 'YES I SEE YOUR FLT PLAN.' I ASKED HIM IF THE RCO WAS FUNCTIONING AT EQY. HE SAID IT WAS. I REPLIED THAT IT WAS NOT WORKING THAT MORNING WHEN I DEPARTED. HE SAID GIVE ME A CALL AND WE'LL GET YOUR CLRNC. I DEPARTED VFR FROM EQY WHICH IS INSIDE THE CLT CLASS B AIRSPACE. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED DEP. MY ALT WAS APPROX 1000 FT MSL. I WAS CLRED VIA THE BETTY TRANSITION; READ BACK THE CLRNC AND STARTED TO CLB. ANOTHER CTLR CAME ON THE AIR; I ASSUMED HE WAS THE SUPVR AND ASKED IF I WAS FAMILIAR WITH THE CLT CLASS B AIRSPACE. I SAID THAT I WAS. HE SEEMED QUITE AGITATED AND INFORMED ME THAT I HAD PERFORMED A 'PLTDEV.' HE SAID NOTHING ELSE AND SWITCHED ME TO THE NEXT FREQ. I WAS IN THE CLASS B AIRSPACE WIHTOUT A CLRNC; BUT I HAD PICKED UP AT LEAST 5 OTHER CLRNCS IN THE SAME FASHION IN THE PRECEDING DAYS AND WKS. THE CTLR SHOULD HAVE SIMPLY STATED THAT I SHOULD REMAIN CLR OF THE CLASS B AND THIS ALL WOULD BE MOOT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED HIS ACFT WAS A KING AIR; BUT DID NOT ADD ANY OTHER SIGNIFICANT INFO.
