Narrative

I AM A CAPT ON A BEECH 1900D AT ACR X BASED IN ZZZ. WE LANDED AT ZZZ AND TAXIED TO OUR RAMP. WE CAME IN THE S SIDE OF CONCOURSE A AND WE WERE TO PARK IN OUR ZONE 1. WE WERE TAXIING INTO ZONE 1 TO THE MIDDLE SPOT. THERE WERE ACFT PARKED ON BOTH SIDES OF MY INTENDED SPOT. THE RAMPER WAS STANDING IN FRONT OF THE LINE (AT THE END WHERE MY NOSEWHEEL GOES) DIRECTING ME TO COME IN. I CAME IN ON THE NS CTRLINE TO ASSURE CLRNC FROM THE 2 AIRPLANES ON EITHER SIDE OF MY INTENDED SPOT. ONCE LINED UP WITH THE RAMPER I TURNED L TO COME STRAIGHT IN ON THE LINE HE WAS STANDING ON; AS DIRECTED TO DO SO. AS I APCHED; LINED UP ON THE LINE AND WITH THE RAMPER; IT LOOKED LIKE IT MIGHT BE TIGHT WITH REGARD TO THE ACFT ON MY L; BUT THE WING WALKER HAD HIS RED BATON POINTING UP; SO I CONTINUED. I STILL THOUGHT I SHOULD BRING THE PLANE TO THE R JUST A LITTLE TO MAKE SURE I WAS EXACTLY ON THE LINE; OR IF ANYTHING; ON THE R HALF OF THE LINE; TO ASSURE ADEQUATE CLRNC. I THOUGHT I WAS ON THE LINE; BUT WANTED TO MAKE SURE SINCE I CAN'T SEE THE ACTUAL NOSEWHEEL. THE RAMPER IN FRONT OF ME STILL WAS GUIDING ME STRAIGHT IN. AS I STARTED TO ADD A LITTLE PWR TO THE L ENG; I LOOKED THE RAMPER IN FRONT OF ME; AND HE WAS STILL BRINGING ME STRAIGHT IN. I THEN LOOKED L AND THE WING WALKER CROSSED HIS BATONS. I STOPPED; BUT WAS JUST IN THE PROCESS OF ADDING PWR TO THE L ENG WHICH MADE THE PLANE LURCH FORWARD AND TO THE R SINCE I HAD MOSTLY R BRAKE APPLIED. I STEPPED HARD ON BOTH BRAKES THEN AND SET THEM. THE WINGTIP STRUCK THE OTHER ACFT'S WINGTIP AND CRACKED THE OUTER SHELL OF THE NAV LIGHT. I SHUT DOWN THE ENGS AND DEBOARDED THE PAX; AS DIRECTED. I THINK THE MAINT PROB IN ZZZ IS THAT THERE JUST ISN'T ENOUGH ROOM ON THAT RAMP TO PARK 3 AIRPLANES IN A ROW SAFELY. WHEN THE 1ST AND 3RD SPOTS ARE OCCUPIED; YOU CAN'T BRING AN AIRPLANE STRAIGHT IN TO THE MIDDLE SPOT WITHOUT STRIKING A WINGTIP. YOU HAVE TO BE DIRECTED IN SO THAT YOU COULD GO AROUND THE WINGTIP AND THEN ANGLE BACK INTO THE PARKING SPOT. THE IDEAL SOLUTION WOULD BE TO HAVE ONLY 2 AIRPLANES PARKED IN THAT ROW.
