GYR CTLR CHALLENGES C182 PLT EXITING RWY FOR TAXIING WITHOUT AUTH. PLT CONSIDERS DISCUSSION ABUSIVE.

Narrative

ON APCH; I WAS INSTRUCTED TO RPT A L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 21. I RPTED DOWNWIND AND WAS TOLD I WAS #2 TO LAND AND RPT SEEING THE #1 TFC. I DID NOT SEE #1 TFC UNTIL IT TURNED FINAL. I WAS NEVER TOLD THE #1 TFC WAS ON A R DOWNWIND FOR RWY 21. THIS MADE ME QUESTION THE ABILITY OF THE TWR OPERATOR. AFTER LNDG; I TURNED OFF RWY 21 AND STOPPED AT TXWY A5. I CALLED GND ON 121.7 AND GOT NO RESPONSE. I SWITCHED BACK TO TWR ON 120.1 AND GOT NO RESPONSE. I CHKED FOR TFC VERY CAREFULLY AND PROCEEDED TOWARDS THE TERMINAL AT A SPD LESS THAN A SLOW WALK. I CALLED GND AGAIN ON 121.7 AND GOT A RESPONSE AS I APCHED A4 ON TXWY A. THE TWR ASKED THAT I CALL THE TWR ON THE PHONE AFTER PARKING. THERE WAS NO GND TFC AND ONLY 1 ACFT IN THE PATTERN AT THE TIME. THIS IS NOT A BUSY ARPT. IT PROBABLY DOESN'T NEED A CTL TWR. THERE WAS NEVER A QUESTION OF SAFETY. DURING MY PHONE CALL; THE TWR PERSON WAS THREATENING; ABUSIVE; DEMEANING AND NOT UNDERSTANDING AT ALL. WHAT SHOULD BE IMPROVED: THIS PERSON'S RESPONSE WAS COUNTER PRODUCTIVE. IT DEGRADES MY CONFIDENCE IN AIR TFC CTL. THIS GUY WAS ON A PWR TRIP. WE ALL NEED TO WORK TOGETHER TO HAVE A SAFE OPERATING ENVIRONMENT.
