CAPT PROGRAMMED FMC FOR RWY 16R/NARITA REVERSAL 8 WITH XCHK BY FO. ON TKOF WITH LNAV SELECTED ACFT DIRECTED L TURN TO JOIN 156 DEG RADIAL OF HKE VERSUS 156 DEG RADIAL OF NRT. IN TURN FO QUESTIONED DIRECTIONS ORDERED BY FLT DIRECTOR AND STOPPED TURN; THE CONTINUED WHEN NEEDLES SHOWED AN INTERCEPT TO THE 156 DEG RADIAL. TWR QUERIED FLT PATH; FLT CREW RPTED ON THE 156 DEG RADIAL. TWR CONFIRMED 'NARITA 156 DEG RADIAL; ROGER;' WHICH PROMPTED COCKPIT DISCUSSION AND DISCOVERY OF HKE AUTOTUNED VERSUS NRT. RPTED TO TWR THAT ACFT WAS IN FACT ON THE HKE 156 DEG RADIAL; TWR ROGERED XMISSION AND ISSUED A R TURN TO HEADING; AND THEN CONTINUED WITH VECTORS TO ON COURSE ENRTE SINGAPORE. A FREQ CHANGE TO DEP CTL WAS GIVEN AND THE REST OF THE FLT WAS UNEVENTFUL. THERE HAVE BEEN RPTS OF THE FMC DUMPING INFO ON THIS PARTICULAR DEP (WORD OF MOUTH ONLY FOR ME; NO DOCUMENTATION SEEN) BUT NO MENTION OF THE ACFT SWITCHING DEPS. THE HKE 156 DEG RADIAL IS THE DEP TRACK FOR RWY 16L AT NRT; BUT RWY 16R WAS SELECTED IN THE FMC. NO HUMAN FACTORS WERE EVIDENT. THE XCHK OF THE RWY AND DEP ARE DONE AFTER; NOT DURING; THE LOADING PROCESS. IT WAS; HOWEVER; THE FIRST TIME FLYING TO NARITA AND SINGAPORE FOR BOTH THE FO AND THE CAPT; AND THIS WAS AN UNAUGMENTED FLT LEG. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR ADVISES THAT THIS DATABASE SOFTWARE ANOMALY HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED BY HIS CARRIER AND THAT BULLETINS HAVE BEEN POSTED TO SPECIFICALLY VERIFY THE PROPER RWY AND TRACK. IF THE INCORRECT DATA IS DISPLAYED THEY ARE ADVISED TO UTILIZE RAW DATA INFO AND HEADING SELECT MODE TO FLY THE CORRECT DEP PATH.
