NORMAL OPS AND NORMAL PROCS OPERATING OUT OF DCA. FO'S LEG OUTBOUND TO ATL WITH A FULL LOAD OF PAX ON A HOT SUMMER MORNING. LONG TKOF ROLL ON RWY 1; TURN AT 400 FT AGL (APPROX 15 DEG BANK); MAX OUTBOUND VISUALLY OVER THE RIVER TO INTERCEPT THE DCA 328 DEG RADIAL OUTBOUND. LOST THE RIVER AT ABOUT 1500 FT ON A 5-10 DEGS (APPROX 322 DEGS) HEADING TO INTERCEPT THE DCA 328 DEG RADIAL. IN CONTACT WITH DEP; THEN SENT TO CTR. AGAIN; NORMAL DEP; NORMAL OPS OUT OF DCA. ALTHOUGH DEP CTL AND ZDC'S RADAR DID NOT DETECT ENCROACHMENT; SECRET SVC QUESTIONED THIS PARTICULAR DEP. THIS NASA RPT IS SIMPLY TO RESTATE THE TIGHT DEP PARAMETERS SURROUNDING P-56. HVY WT; HOT DAY; 15 DEG BANK TURNS AT LOW ALTS WITH FULL PWR (EXECUTED VERY CONSCIENTIOUSLY) MIGHT STILL PUT YOU WITHIN THE ENCROACHMENT PARAMETERS OF P-56. LESSON LEARNED: FLY AS 'TIGHT' AS POSSIBLE. I DIDN'T THINK THAT I WAS EVEN CLOSE TO SETTING OFF ENCROACHMENT BUFFERS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR ADVISED THAT THE FLT CREW WAS INTERVIEWED AT THEIR DEST AND ASKED TO PROVIDE WRITTEN STATEMENTS OF THE EVENT. NO FURTHER COM HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY ANY OTHER ORGANIZATION.
