A B737-300 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH AN ENGINEERING SVC ORDER COMPLETED BUT NOT ENTERED IN THE LOGBOOK.
Narrative
WE WERE SCHEDULED A NUMBER OF TIME CTL ITEMS TO BE COMPLETED ALONG WITH A SVC CHK. THE #2 ENG HAD A ENGINEERING SVC ORDER OR MODIFICATION DUE. THIS ENGINEERING SVC ORDER OR MODIFICATION CONSISTS OF 7 OPS TO BE COMPLETED AND THEN ENGINEERING SVC ORDER OR MODIFICATION TO BE SIGNED OFF ALONG WITH THE ASSOCIATED JOB INSTRUCTION CARDS. AT THE END OF THE NIGHT; ONE OF MY AMT'S BROUGHT TO OUR ATTN THE DETAIL OF OP X. THIS OP CONSISTED OF PERFORMING A LEAK CHK OF THE FUEL NOZZLES. THIS ITEM COULD NOT BE COMPLETED BY MY CREW. I CALLED THE MAINT CTLR AND EXPLAINED THE SIT; AND THAT I THOUGHT THERE WAS JUST A PAPERWORK ERROR AND THAT FROM WHAT I COULD TELL; THIS OP WOULD ONLY NEED TO BE DONE IF ANY OF THE FUEL NOZZLES HAD BEEN REMOVED FOR ACCESS DURING THE BOROSCOPE. THIS WAS NOT NEEDED AS THE INSPECTORS WERE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE BOROSCOPE BY ACCESSING THROUGH THE BOLT HOLES. THIS ENGINEERING SVC ORDER OR MODIFICATION WAS BUSTED BY THE MAINT CTLR EQUIP CTLR. I GAVE MY TURNOVER TO THE NEXT SHIFT ON WHAT HAD TRANSPIRED. I EXPLAINED TO THE LEAD ON DUTY WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE AND IF AT ALL POSSIBLE; WE SHOULD COMPLETE THIS OP AND SIGN OFF THE ENGINEERING SVC ORDER OR MODIFICATION EVEN THOUGH THE ITEM HAD BEEN CANCELLED. AT THIS POINT; AFTER ALREADY EXTENDING THE TIME I WAS LEAVING WORK APPROX 1 HR; IN A HURRY; I DREW 1 LINE THROUGH THE ENTRY AND SIGNED ALONG WITH MY EMPLOYEE NUMBER. THIS WAS WHERE THE ERROR HAD OCCURRED. I LINED THROUGH THE ENTRY AFTER ALL THE WORK HAD BEEN COMPLETED WITH NO LOGBOOK SIGNOFF SAYING ANY WORK HAD TAKEN PLACE; EVEN THOUGH IT HAD. THIS WAS A MISTAKE I REGRET MAKING WHILE IN A HURRY AND WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF IT UNTIL THE FOLLOWING NIGHT.
