A B767-300 FLT ATTENDANT IN CHARGE RPTED THAT A PAX WAS ABUSIVE DURING A FLT TO MAD; FO.

Narrative

PAX WENT TO THE BACK WHILE WE WERE HAVING SOME MODERATE TURB; AND THE SEATBELT SIGN WAS ON. HE PICKED UP A NEWSPAPER FROM PERSONAL ITEMS WHICH WERE ON THE R HAND SIDE JUMPSEAT NEXT TO DOOR 4R. FLT ATTENDANT #7 INFORMED HIM THAT THE PAPER WAS A PERSONAL ITEM WHICH BELONGED TO ANOTHER FLT ATTENDANT; AND THAT HE SHOULD RETURN TO HIS SEAT BECAUSE THE SEATBELT SIGN WAS ON. PAX DISREGARDED THE ADVICE; AND REMAINED IN AREA READING THE NEWSPAPER. FLT ATTENDANT #7 CALLED ME IN THE FRONT OF THE ACFT; SINCE I WAS THE PURSER; SO I WOULD TALK TO HIM. WHEN I REACHED THE BACK; THE PAX HAD ENTERED THE LAVATORY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ACFT WITH THE PAPER. WHEN HE CAME OUT; I ASKED HIM TO SHARE ANY CONCERN WITH ME REGARDING THE REQUEST THAT FLT ATTENDANT #7 HAD PROPOSED TO HIM. HE ANSWERED IN A HIGH VOICE AND MENACING MANNER THAT HE HAD NOTHING TO TALK TO ME ABOUT; AND HE PROCEEDED TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ACFT WHERE HE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN STANDING. I CAUTIOUSLY FOLLOWED HIM; AND ASKED HIM TO RETURN TO HIS SEAT; AND THEN HE STARTED RANTING ABOUT THE FACT THAT WE COULD NOT PROHIBIT HIM FROM STANDING IN THE BACK READING THE PAPER. HE ASKED FOR MY NAME AND FLT ATTENDANT #7; IN ORDER TO SUBMIT A COMPLAINT. I STEPPED AWAY AND CALLED THE CAPT BECAUSE HE WAS GETTING OUT OF CTL. CAPT MADE DECISION TO CALL THE POLICE ON ARR. AFTER I CALLED THE CAPT; I ASKED THE PAX TO TAKE HIS SEAT; AND HE COMPLIED. ON ARR THE POLICE MET THE FLT AND WE SUBMITTED OUR RPTS. I WAS INFORMED BY THE OTHER WITNESS FLT ATTENDANT; THAT HE HEARD THE PAX USE IMPROPER LANGUAGE.
