DESPITE DUTIFUL BRIEFINGS FROM AN FSS BRIEFER; SPECIFICALLY REQUESTING DETAILS OF TFR'S ON HIS VFR RTE OF FLT; PLT OF PA28 DEPARTS VNY AND IS PROMPTLY DIRECTED INTO A TFR HE WAS NOT BRIEFED ON BY VNY TWR AND SCT CTLRS.
Narrative
I CONTACTED FSS THROUGH 1-800-WXBRIEF AND OBTAINED A STANDARD WX BRIEFING; INCLUDING INFO ON TFR'S. I WAS ASKED MY RTE OF FLT; AND I INDICATED THAT I WOULD BE DEPARTING VNY FOR VICTORVILLE; CA; AND THAT MY RTE WOULD BE VIA PALMDALE VOR; CA. I WAS ADVISED BY FSS THAT THERE WERE TFR'S FOR FIREFIGHTING ACFT OPS BUT THAT THEY WOULD BE TO THE W OF MY INTENDED RTE AND ALSO TO THE S OF MY INTENDED RTE. VNY TWR GAVE ME A R DOWNWIND DEP FROM RWY 16R AND INSTRUCTED ME TO KEEP MY ALT AT OR BELOW 2500 FT UNTIL XING THE 118 FREEWAY (APPROX 4 MI N). I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT SOCAL APCH CTL ON 120.4 AFTER XING THE 118 FREEWAY AND LEAVING TWR FREQ. I MADE CONTACT WITH SOCAL APCH AND RECEIVED A SQUAWK CODE WITHIN APPROX 1 MI. A SHORT TIME LATER; I RECEIVED MY NEXT CONTACT FROM APCH CTL. THE APCH CTLR ASKED IF I REALIZED THAT I WAS IN A TFR; AND I ADVISED HIM THAT I WAS NOT AWARE THAT I WAS IN A TFR BECAUSE I HAD OBTAINED A STANDARD WX BRIEFING FROM FSS; GIVING THEM MY INTENDED RTE OF FLT; AND WAS ADVISED THAT I WOULD BE TO THE E AND N OF THE TFR'S. THE APCH CTLR THEN REQUESTED THAT I TURN 320 DEGS (FURTHER NW TOWARD THE TFR) TO CLR INBOUND JET TFC ON VNY ILS RWY 16R. IN OTHER WORDS; THE CTLR STEERED ME MORE DIRECTLY INTO THE AREA WHERE HE STATED THE TFR WAS LOCATED SO THAT I WOULD BE FURTHER AWAY FROM THE ILS TRACK I WAS ATTEMPTING NOT TO FLY THROUGH UNTIL RECEIVING TA'S FROM SOCAL APCH CTL. ON MY RETURN TRIP; TO AVOID A RECURRENCE OF THIS PROB; I ASKED A FSS BRIEFER TO GIVE ME SPECIFIC INFO CONCERNING THE EXACT LOCATION OF THE TFR'S AND GAVE THE BRIEFER A WAYPOINT BY WAYPOINT COURSE AS THOUGH I WAS IFR TO ENSURE THAT THERE WAS NO MISUNDERSTANDING CONCERNING THE EXACT LOCATION OF THE TFR'S AND MY EXACT RTE OF FLT.
