A BE58'S NOSE GEAR COLLAPSES DURING ROLLOUT ON THE RWY AT PIE; FL.
Narrative
ON THE BASE TO FINAL TURN WE THREW IN FULL FLAPS AND REVERIFIED THAT THE GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED BY OUR INDICATOR LIGHTS AND THE USE OF THE MIRROR. THE THIRD TOUCH-AND-GO WAS DOWN AND LOCKED BY OUR INDICATOR LIGHTS AND THE USER OF THE MIRROR. THE THIRD TOUCH-AND-GO WENT WITHOUT ANY INCIDENT; RAISING A NOTCH OF FLAPS BEFORE TKOF AND CLEANING UP THE PLANE AFTER TKOF. THIS TIME ATC TOLD US TO CONTINUE ON OUR PRESENT HDG (004 DEGS) AND THAT THEY WOULD CALL OUR TURN SO WE SLOWED THE ACFT DOWN TO ABOUT 130 KTS BECAUSE WE DID NOT WANT TO PENETRATE TAMPA AIRSPACE. EVENTUALLY ATC ADVISED US TO MAKE L-HAND TFC TO RWY 4 AND WE COMPLIED. AT ABOUT MIDFIELD DOWNWIND WE DROPPED THE GEAR TO SLOW US DOWN A BIT MORE AND BEGIN TO PREPARE FOR LNDG. THIS TIME THE GEAR TRANSIT LIGHT (ORANGE LIGHT ON THE INDICATOR PANEL) REMAINED ON WHAT SEEMED A BIT LONGER THAN THE PREVIOUS TIMES. WE FINALLY GOT THE 3 GREEN LIGHTS BUT THEY FLICKERED AND ALTERNATED BTWN THE TRANSIT LIGHT AND BACK TO GREEN TO ORANGE AND THEN REMAINED SOLID GREEN. WE MONITORED THE GEAR LIGHTS BUT THEY SEEMED TO REMAIN IN THE GREEN POS FOR A FEW SECONDS SO WE CONTINUED ON. AT THIS POINT WE WERE AT ABOUT OUR DOWNWIND TO BASE TURN AND ATC ADVISED US TO CONTINUE AND THEY WOULD CALL OUR BASE TURN. WE COMPLIED AND THEN ATC TOLD US TO MAKE A R 360 DEG TURN; AND AGAIN WE COMPLIED. ATC CALLED OUR BASE TURN EVENTUALLY AND WE THREW IN A NOTCH OF FLAPS. ROLLING OUT OF OUR TURN; ATC ADVISED US THAT THERE WOULD BE A RWY CHANGE AND TO EXPECT RWY 35L. WE ACCEPTED THE CHANGE AND ADJUSTED OUR DIRECTION OF FLT AND ENTERED THE BASE TURN TO RWY 35L; FOLLOWED BY TURNING FINAL AND THROWING IN OUR FULL NOTCH OF FLAPS. AT THE LAST SECOND; ATC TOLD US TO SIDESTEP TO RWY 35R AND THAT WE WERE CLRED TO LAND RWY 35R. WE COMPLIED AND TOUCHED DOWN A BIT AFTER THE NUMBERS (THE RWY NUMBERS PAVED ON THE RWY). ON OUR LNDG ROLLOUT (WITH THE THROTTLES AT COMPLETE IDLE) WE CONTINUED A BIT AND THEN BEGAN TO APPLY BRAKES JUST AS THE PLANE BEGAN TO TAKE A FORWARD DOWNHILL MOTION. WE BEGAN TO SEE ONLY CONCRETE AND WE REALIZED WHAT WAS HAPPENING. AS WE CAME TO A SKIDDING STOP; I PULLED THE MIXTURES TO THE CUTOFF POS FOLLOWED BY TURNING BOTH THE R AND L MAGNETOS TO THE OFF POS AND THEN TURNING OFF THE 3 TOGGLES; R AND L ALTERNATORS AND BATTERY.
