Narrative
WHILE CLRING RWY 24R AT TXWY T AT ORD; TWR INDICATED THE R BRAKE WAS SMOKING HEAVILY. I CONTINUED TO CLR THE RWY; BUT DUE TO AN ADDITIONAL CALL BY TWR INDICATING INCREASING URGENCY THAT THE R BRAKE WAS SMOKING HEAVILY; STOPPED THE ACFT ON TXWY M BTWN TXWY T AND M2 AND REQUESTED THEY ROLL THE FIRE AND RESCUE EQUIP. SHORTLY AFTER STOPPING THE SMOKE BEGAN TO DECREASE IN INTENSITY. THE LNDG WAS NORMAL WITH MINIMAL BRAKING. THE BRAKE TEMP GAUGES WERE READING 50 DEGS C AT THIS TIME. I HAD THE FO CHK TO INSURE ALL BRAKES WERE RPTING AND THEY WERE. I FIGURED THAT DUE TO THE LOW TEMP THAT EITHER A LEAK OR A NEW BRAKE WAS THE SOURCE OF THE SOLUTION AND BRIEFED THE FLT ATTENDANTS THAT AN EVAC WAS NOT LIKELY; BUT WAS POSSIBLE; AND THAT FIRE AND RESCUE WOULD SOON SURROUND THE ACFT. I THEN BRIEFED THE PAX THAT; 'FIRE AND RESCUE WOULD SURROUND US; WE STOPPED AS A PRECAUTION DUE TO A RPT FROM THE TWR.' I INDICATED AFTER WE INVESTIGATED THE PROB WE EXPECTED TO TAXI INTO THE GATE. THE MAX TEMP INDICATED WAS 105 DEGS TO 110 DEGS C; WHICH IS NORMAL AFTER LNDG. AFTER FIRE/RESCUE WAS ON SCENE WE SHUT DOWN BOTH ENGS. MAINT THEN ARRIVED AND DETERMINED THAT A 'QUICK DISCONNECT' HAD COME OFF AND WAS LEAKING ON THE R BRAKE. THEY RECONNECTED THE BRAKE LINE; AND HAD ME TAXI IN. THE ACFT DURING THIS PERIOD WAS PARKED BTWN TXWY T AND M2 ON TXWY T. THE TAIL MAY HAVE BEEN BLOCKING TXWY T AT THAT POINT. THIS POS WAS SELECTED BECAUSE IT HAD GOOD ACCESS FOR THE VEHICLES AND THE URGENCY PRESENTED BY THE TWR'S XMISSIONS. AFTER GND CLRNC THE L ENG WAS RESTARTED. TAXI IN WAS NORMAL.
