A CESSNA 182 PLT IS ACCUSED OF HITTING A CESSNA 210 WING WITH HIS WING.
Narrative
RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM OWNER/PLT OF CESSNA 210 THAT WITNESSES HAD SEEN THE WINGTIP OF MY ACFT RUN OVER THE TOP OF THE C210 WHICH WAS PARKED AND TIED DOWN IN THE TIEDOWN NEXT TO MY ACFT. ZZZ ARPT MGR HAS SUBMITTED SAME RPT TO THE FAA. THE EVENING OF THE SUPPOSED INCIDENT I TAXIED MY CESSNA 182 INTO A TIEDOWN POS (PAINTED MARKINGS) TO THE R AND SLIGHTLY FORWARD OF A CESSNA 210. THE RAMP WAS GENERALLY UNLIT AND WIND CONDITIONS WERE GUSTY. I USED A SMALL AMOUNT OF ENG PWR AND SLOWLY MOVED INTO THE TIEDOWN LOCATION. THIS REQUIRED A TURN SLIGHTLY FORWARD OF THE CESSNA 210 DUE TO THE POS OF THE ADJOINING TIEDOWN AND ACFT. THERE WAS SOME BUFFETING OF THE WINGS DURING TAXI. I BELIEVED I WAS CLR OF THE NEIGHBORING ACFT. I IMMEDIATELY TIED MY CESSNA 182 DOWN DUE TO THE WINDS. I ALSO MADE A VISUAL INSPECTION OF MY ACFT WINGTIP AND THE CESSNA 210 AND FOUND NO SCRATCHES OR DAMAGE. I WILL TYPICALLY DO THIS (INSPECTING THE ACFT) WHEN PARKING IN CLOSE PROX WITH OTHER ACFT. WHEN I DEPARTED ZZZ; I DID A NORMAL PREFLT INSPECTION AND NOTED NO DAMAGE TO MY WINGTIP. THE OWNER OF THE CESSNA 210 RPTS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE TOP OF HIS R WINGTIP. THE DAMAGE IS ONLY NOTICED FROM ABOVE THE WING. DAMAGE IS ESTIMATED TO BE PAINT WORK AT LESS THAN $1000. I AM FORWARDING INSURANCE INFO AND WILL INSPECT MY ACFT FOR SIGNS OF CONTACT. I HAVE BEEN AWAY ON BUSINESS AND HAVE NOT YET INSPECTED THE BOTTOM OF MY WING DROOP.
