Narrative
WE WERE PARKED AT FBO AT BWI FACING TO THE S. THERE WAS A FAIRLY STRONG WIND OUT OF THE N BLOWING THE ENG EXHAUST FUMES INTO THE ACFT. WE CALLED GND CTL FOR TAXI AND HE TOLD US TO HOLD IN PLACE WHILE ANOTHER ACFT WAS TAXIING IN. WE ASKED FOR PERMISSION TO MAKE A 90 DEG TURN TO GET THE EXHAUST FUMES OUT OF THE ACFT. HE CLRED US TO TAXI BUT TO GIVE WAY TO THE ACFT TAXIING IN. WE DIDN'T COMPLETE OUR PRE-TAXI CHKLIST BEFORE COMING OFF THE CHOCKS. THE CTLR ASKED US IF WE WANTED RWY 28 OR RWY 33R. WE DETERMINED THAT WE COULD USE RWY 33R AND ASKED FOR THIS RWY. I BELIEVE DURING THE CTLR'S INITIAL INSTRUCTIONS THAT HE GAVE US RWY 28. WE CALLED BACK AND ASKED HIM TO VERIFY THAT HE HAD MEANT RWY 33R. HE CLRED US TO TAXI TO RWY 33R. AT THIS POINT; WE DISCOVERED THAT THE YAW DAMPER WOULDN'T TEST (PRE-TAXI CHKLIST). WE STOPPED TO TROUBLESHOOT AND FIND THE APPROPRIATE CIRCUIT BREAKER TO RESET. GND CALLED US AND TOLD US TO CONTINUE OUR TAXI. WE INFORMED HIM OF OUR PROB AND THAT WE NEEDED A FEW MINS. WE GOT THE PROB FIXED BY RESETTING THE CIRCUIT BREAKER AND CONTINUED OUR TAXI. I SHOULD HAVE MADE AN IMMEDIATE L TURN ONTO THE PARALLEL TXWY BUT I CONTINUED STRAIGHT. I BELIEVE I WAS THINKING THE PARALLEL TXWY WAS STILL AHEAD. WE WERE ON TXWY K WHICH CROSSES THE APCH END OF RWY 15L. IMMEDIATELY UPON XING THE RWY; I REALIZED WHAT WE HAD JUST DONE AND WERE IN THE PROCESS OF CALLING GND WHEN THEY CALLED AND ASKED IF WE KNEW THAT WE HAD JUST CROSSED THE RWY. WE WERE THEN CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 28 FOR DEP. I BELIEVE THIS PROB WAS CAUSED BY A CHAIN OF EVENTS BEGINNING WITH OUR RUSH TO KEEP THE WIND FROM BLOWING THE EXHAUST FUMES INTO THE CABIN; THEN GETTING PREOCCUPIED WITH THE YAW DAMPER PROB. I FEEL THAT THE CTLR'S INITIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO TAXI TO RWY 28 INSTEAD OF RWY 33R ADDED TO THE CONFUSION. THIS OCCURRENCE COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED BY NOT RUSHING TO GET UNDER WAY; NOT MOVING UNTIL THE APPROPRIATE CHKLIST HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND IF A PROB DOES ARISE; TAKING YOUR TIME TO FIX THE PROB AND NOT ATTEMPTING TO MAKE UP FOR LOST TIME. ALSO BE AWARE OF WHERE YOU ARE GOING AND WHAT RTE YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RAMP. STUDY THE ARPT DIAGRAM AHEAD OF TIME.
