Narrative
BEGINNING OR NEAR BEGINNING OF DSCNT; THE CAPT CAME ON PA AND SAID 'FLT ATTENDANTS IMMEDIATELY TAKE YOUR SEATS.' WE DID. HE LATER CALLED TO SEE IF THE MASKS HAD DROPPED IN THE CABIN. THEY HAD NOT. HE ASKED IF WE HEARD ANY BANGS; LOUD NOISES OR HISSING. WE HAD NOT. APPARENTLY EXPERIENCING PRESSURE PROB INDICATIONS IN THE COCKPIT. ABOUT 3 MINS LATER; I PICKED UP THE INTERPHONE (#4) AND CALLED THE CAPT TO TELL HIM MY DOOR WAS DEPRESSURIZING -- AS WE SPOKE YOU COULD HEAR THE LOUD RUSHING OF AIR. IT GOT EXTREMELY NOISY AND VERY; VERY COLD. I BEGGED A BLANKET BACK FROM A NEARBY PAX. THE CAPT TOLD ME TO NOT LEAVE MY JUMPSEAT FOR ANY REASON -- TO REMAIN STRAPPED IN; NOT TO DO ANY CABIN CHKS EITHER WHEN THE TIME CAME -- 'SIT TIGHT.' I HAD TO PUT MY FINGERS N MY EARS IT WAS SO LOUD. I WAS REALLY; REALLY COLD. I COULD FEEL WITH MY R HAND NEAR THE DOOR EDGES; EXACTLY WHERE THE AIR WAS RUSHING IN. WEIRD. I REMAINED STRAPPED IN UNTIL AFTER GATE ARR. A 'PRESSURE CHK' WAS RUN ON THE ACFT ON GND BY MAINT PERSONNEL IN ZZZZ. WE RETURNED TO ZZZ1 ON THE SAME ACFT; NO PROBS. WAS I SCARED? YES. COLD? YES. ABSOLUTELY THRILLED? YES. WAS I FLYING WITH MY CAPT AND ALL HIS YRS OF WISDOM AND EXPERIENCE? ABSOLUTELY. I HAD MY FAITH IN THE CAPT. I WAS #4. IT WAS MY GALLEY DOOR WHICH I SAT 2 FT AWAY FACING THE REAR OF THE ACFT.
