Narrative
DUTY DAY STARTED AT JFK AT XA00 DENVER TIME; WITH PAX PICK UP. REFUELED AT OMA AND LANDED APA 8 HRS 30 MINS LATER TO REFUEL AND DROP OFF PAX AND PICK UP NEW SIC -- DEPARTED APA TO LAS AND TOOK A 20 MIN NAP. APA WX 3000-4000 FT BROKEN WITH VIRGA. DEPARTED LAS WITHOUT AN UPDATE OF APA WX. DURING ARR; ATIS RPTED 200 FT OVCST 1/4 MI SNOW AND MIST. ONE ACFT AHEAD OF US MISSED ON THE ILS RWY 35R APCH. NEXT IT LANDED BUT SAID SNOW CONDITIONS WERE POOR. SNOW PLOW CREW WANTED THE TWR TO CLOSE THE RWY BECAUSE OF SNOW BUILDUP. TWR WANTED TO KEEP RWY OPEN UNTIL MYSELF AND ANOTHER ACFT HAD LANDED. I SHOULD HAVE HEEDED SNOW PLOW DRIVER'S CONCERN. WE BROKE OUT AT 300 FT AND 1 MI VISIBILITY AND IT LOOKED LOUSY DUE TO SNOW ON RWY BUT I CONTINUED TO LAND. AS THE ACFT WAS COMING TO A STOP IT VEERED OR SLID OFF THE EDGE OF RWY. I COULD NOT STOP IT WITH FULL L RUDDER AND L REVERSE THRUST. I'M NOT SURE IF THE NOSEWHEEL STEERING HAD BEEN ENGAGED BY PNF OR NOT. NO INJURIES NOR DAMAGE TO PAX OR ACFT. FBO'S TUG PULLED US BACK ONTO RWY AND INTO THE HANGAR. FAA CALLED ME FOR INFO BUT I HAD BEEN REQUESTED BY MY DIRECTOR OF OPS NOT TO RETURN THE FAA'S CALL; BUT THAT MY DIRECTOR OF OPS WOULD TAKE CARE OF THEIR INTEREST. NEXT TIME; I'LL ENSURE NOSEWHEEL IS ARMED ON ALL LNDGS AND LISTEN TO THE SNOW PLOW DRIVERS!
