A B737-200 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH #1 THRUST REVERSER INOP PER THE MEL BUT NOT ENTERED IN LOGBOOK OR ON MAINT RELEASE.
Narrative
DID NOT DISCOVER THAT THE #1 THRUST REVERSER WAS WIRED CLOSED UNTIL LNDG ROLLOUT IN ZZZ1 ON RWY 17R. UPON INITIATING COCKPIT PREFLT; I NOTICED THE MAINT NOTE IN THE LOGBOOK AND WHITE STICKER ON CTR FORWARD PANEL. CONSIDERED IT TO BE AN ITEM MAINT WAS TRACKING AND CONTINUED WITH PREFLT. IT WAS STILL DARK AND I DID NOT NOTICE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER LEVER WAS WIRED CLOSED. EVEN IN DAYLIGHT; IT IS HARD TO SEE FROM THE FO'S SEAT. IT WAS THE CAPT'S LEG AND THE LNDG IN ZZZ1 WAS UNEVENTFUL. UPON REACHING THE GATE AND PARKING THE ACFT; MAINT CTL WAS NOTIFIED; AS WELL AS DISPATCH. A CONTRACT MECH WAS CALLED OUT TO CORRECT THE LOGBOOK. ITEMS THAT LED TO THIS OVERSIGHT: 1) THE ORIGINAL WRITE-UP WAS NOT LEFT IN THE LOGBOOK. 2) THE RELEASE GAVE NO MENTION OF THE DISCREPANCY. 3) HAVING A CLR UNDERSTANDING OF THE MAINT NOTE. 4) IMPROPERLY ANNOTATED STICKERS. 5) PREFLT OF THE CTR PEDESTAL. POSSIBLE RECOMMENDATION: CREATE A STEP IN THE PREFLT THAT WOULD HAVE ONE OF THE PLTS CHK THAT THE THRUST REVERSER LEVERS ARE FREE.
