Narrative
THE FLT ORIGINATED CCR. FUEL STOP AT INW. WX BRIEFING FROM PRESCOTT FSS AND FILED IFR PLAN TO ADM. W OF CVN; ENCOUNTERED IMC WITH RIME ICE AT 11000 FT MSL WHICH CAUSED A FREEZING PITOT TUBE AND CARB ICE. CORRECTED WITH CARB AND PITOT HEAT AND CLRNC TO 8000 FT MSL. 1/2 OF FUEL WAS EXPENDED AT THIS TIME. I DISCUSSED WX AHEAD WITH FSS ON 122.0. I DECIDED ON LNDG AT CVN; KNOWING IT HAD WX CONDITIONS OF 100 FT CEILING; 4 MI VISIBILITY; 8 DEGS C; WIND AT 165 DEGS AT 6 KTS. I WAS GIVEN VECTORS TO LOC RWY 4 BY CANNON APCH. I WAS ESTABLISHED ON LOC AND GS. AT 4400 FT MSL; I STRUCK SOMETHING. ALL RADIO COM WAS LOST. IN THESE CIRCUMSTANCES; THE EXECUTION OF A MISSED APCH AND REALIGNING FOR ILS RWY 4 AT CVN WAS DIFFICULT. I PROCEEDED ERRATICALLY. MORE THAN 1 HR LATER; CANNON APCH CAME BACK ON AS I WAS HDG 240 DEGS. THEY GAVE ME VECTORS TO CANNON AFB (CVS) ON A 270 DEG HDG. RADIO XMISSIONS WERE INTERMITTENT AND I WAS REQUESTED TO RESPOND BY XPONDER IDENT. I WAS DIRECTED TO RWY 22 AT CVS. I BROKE OUT AT 200-300 FT AGL ON A 45 DEG ENTRY FOR RWY 22. I LANDED UNEVENTFULLY. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT I HIT A PWR LINE 1 MI TO THE R OF CVN RWY 4.
