Narrative
I AM A STUDENT PLT AT AN AIRLINE ACADEMY; WORKING ON MY COMMERCIAL LICENSE. I WAS ON A LONG XCOUNTRY FROM ZZZ TO ZZZ1 TO ZZZ2 TO ZZZ. WHILE ENRTE FROM ZZZ2 TO ZZZ; I WAS ON FLT FOLLOWING WITH ZMA WHEN I NOTICED A NO VOLTAGE READING ON MY AMMETER. I TRIED TO CONTACT ZMA TO TELL THEM OF MY PROB. THEY COULDN'T HEAR ME SO I SWITCHED COMS AND JACKS AND; AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS WITH ZMA; I CONCLUDED MY RADIOS AND ALTERNATOR WENT OUT. I WENT THROUGH MY ALT/LOW VOLTAGE EMER CHKLIST TO TRY TO GET MY ALTERNATOR BACK WITH NO SUCCESS. THE LAST ITEM ON MY CHKLIST IS TO LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICAL; SO I TURNED TO THE NEAREST ARPT (VRB). I ARRIVED DIRECTLY OVER THE ARPT AT 3000 FT AND CIRCLED IT. I ASSESSED THE WIND DIRECTION; RWY IN USE AND TFC; WHILE CIRCLING AND DSNDING INTO CLASS D AIRSPACE. THERE WERE NO LIGHT GUN SIGNALS FROM THE TWR; BUT IT SEEMED THAT GND TFC WAS BEING HELD SHORT OF THE RWY SO I MADE MY WAY TO A L DOWNWIND POS AT 1500 FT MSL. I CHKED FOR TFC ON FINAL AND DIDN'T SEE ANY; SO I TOOK THE FINAL POS AND LANDED. AFTER I LANDED; I WENT STRAIGHT TO A PHONE AND CALLED VRB TWR AND NOTIFIED THEM OF MY SIT.
