PLT OF BE35 ENTERS TFR NEAR ABQ AFTER FAILING TO OBTAIN COMPREHENSIVE FLT BRIEFING.

Narrative

I WAS ON A VFR FLT FROM PGA TO AEG ON MAR/FRI/04. I HAD CALLED 800-WX-BRIEF THAT MORNING TO GET A WX BRIEFING. I OPTED FOR THE PRERECORDED BRIEFING FOR THE FMN TO ABQ BRIEFING. UPON THE COMPLETION OF THE WX PORTION; I TERMINATED THE CALL AS OUR RIDE TO THE ARPT HAD ARRIVED. THIS WAS A MAJOR ERROR ON MY PART; AS I DID NOT RECEIVE THE CURRENT NOTAMS. I DID HAVE A COPY OF THE NOTAMS I HAD RECEIVED FOR THE FLT OVER ON WEDNESDAY. THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE BRIEFING THAT INDICATED ANY TFR'S OR OTHER NOTAMS THAT WOULD AFFECT MY FLT. I THEN PROCEEDED WITH THE FLT FROM PGA TO AEG. UPON LNDG; I WAS TOLD BY THE FBO TO PROCEED DIRECTLY TO HIS OFFICE. UPON ENTERING; I WAS INFORMED THAT I HAD PENETRATED THE TFR AND THAT THERE WAS A PERSON FROM CTR THAT WANTED TO TALK TO ME. I ASKED WHEN THE TFR HAD GONE INTO EFFECT AND AT WHAT TIME HAD I PENETRATED THE TFR AIRSPACE. I WAS INFORMED THAT IT HAD GONE INTO EFFECT AT XA45 AND THAT MY INCURSION OCCURRED AT XA47. I LOOKED AT MY WATCH; WHICH WAS INDICATING APPROX XA50. I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT MY PROPER PREFLT PLANNING IS TO BLAME FOR THIS OCCURRENCE. MY FALSE SENSE OF COMPLIANCE BY ASSUMING THAT A 48 HR OLD NOTAM WAS SUFFICIENT WAS A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR. IT IS MY INTENTION TO ATTEND A SAFETY SEMINAR AS SOON AS MY SCHEDULE WILL ALLOW. THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED BY MY PROPER PREFLT; BUT ALSO BY A SIMPLE NOTIFICATION ON THE UNICOM BY THE FBO WHEN I CALLED IN MY INTENTIONS AT 20 MI OUT FROM THE AEG ARPT. HE INDICATED TO ME HE HAD HEARD MY XMISSIONS WHEN I WAS 20 MI FROM THE AEG FIELD. WOULD NOT A SIMPLE 'HEADS UP' THAT I WAS ABOUT TO INADVERTENTLY VIOLATE A TFR BEEN AVOIDED BY THIS ACTION?
