B777 CAPT EXPERIENCED TCASII RA ON FINAL AT DFW WITH ACFT ON PARALLEL RWY.
Narrative
WE WERE CLRED FOR THE ILS APCH TO DFW RWY 35C OUTSIDE OF DAYZZ TO INTERCEPT THE GS AT 5000 FT MSL; WHICH WE DID. WHILE IFR WITH BOTH THE LOC AND GS CTRED AND DSNDING; PASSING THROUGH 4600 FT MSL; WE RECEIVED A TCASII RESOLUTION ALERT TO CLB; WITH TFC SHOWN VERY SLIGHTLY TO OUR R AND ONLY 500 FT BELOW US WITH THE VERT SEPARATION DECREASING. WE IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED THE RESOLUTION AND CLBED BACK TO 5000 FT MSL AND NOTIFIED THE APCH CTLR WE WERE GOING AROUND DUE TO THE TCASII RA. I AM PARTICULARLY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS INCIDENT BECAUSE THE CTLR LITERALLY SCOFFED AT OUR NEED TO FOLLOW THE TCASII RESOLUTION ALERT; EVEN THOUGH WE WERE IFR AND DID NOT HAVE THE TFC IN SIGHT. HE STATED IF THAT'S WHAT WE WERE GOING TO DO (FOLLOW TCASII RA'S ON FINAL) THAT WE WOULD NEVER GET TO LAND BECAUSE THESE HAPPEN ALL THE TIME WHILE LNDG IFR TFC ON PARALLEL RWYS 35C AND 35R. I HAVE BEEN BASED AT DFW SINCE 1983; INCLUDING THE ENTIRE TIME OUR ACFT HAVE BEEN EQUIPPED WITH TCASII. I HAVE NEVER HAD A TCASII RA ON ILS FINAL APCH PRIOR TO THIS.
