AN F100 CAPT INADVERTENTLY TURNS ONTO RWY 22R AFTER LNDG RWY 27R AT ORD CAUSING A RWY INCURSION.

Narrative

AFTER FO LNDG ON RWY 27R PASSING TXWY C; SPD 80 KTS; TWR TOLD US TO CLR AT TXWY E; CONTINUE DOWN RWY 27R. I TOOK OVER FOR BRAKING AND TAKE OFF RWY. I LOOKED DOWN RWY; SAW TXWY E AND INCORRECTLY TURNED OFF ONTO RWY 22R; FOLLOWED BY TURNOFF AT TXWY E. I SHOULD HAVE CONTINUED DOWN RWY 27R AND CLRED VIA TXWY E FROM RWY 27R. I RARELY MISS TXWY C HIGH SPD; BUT AM USED TO (HABIT PATTERN) WHEN NOT MAKING THE HIGH SPD TXWY; BEING GIVEN CLRNC TO TURN DOWN NEXT RWY. IN THIS CASE RWY 22R; FOLLOWED BY TURNOFF AT THE NEXT TXWY; WHICH IN THIS CASE WOULD STILL BE TXWY E. I KNEW I WAS WRONG AFTER I CLRED THE RWY. NO OTHER ACFT WERE AFFECTED. THERE WAS A HOLD SHORT ACFT HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 27R. IN RETROSPECT; I READ THE RPTS AND AM SURPRISED TO SEE ALL THE RWY INCURSIONS BY COMPANY PLTS. NOW I AM ONE OF THEM. I REALLY BLEW IT. AS MY FIX; I WILL ALWAYS CONFIRM THE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS WITH MY FO FROM NOW ON; EVEN WHILE ROLLING DOWN THE RWY AFTER LNDG. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 618620: DURING ROLLOUT; I TOLD THE CAPT THAT I WAS UNABLE TO MAKE THE TXWY C HIGH SPD. THE CAPT SAID 'NO PROB' AND WE XFERRED CTL OF THE ACFT AT APPROX 60 KTS. DURING THE ROLLOUT; TWR INSTRUCTED US TO CLR THE RWY AT TXWY E. INSTEAD OF CONTINUING DOWN THE RWY TO TXWY E; THE CAPT MADE A L TURN ONTO RWY 22R. TWR LATER ADVISED US THEY INTENDED FOR US TO CONTINUE STRAIGHT AHEAD ON RWY 27R; THROUGH THE INTXN OF RWYS 22R/27R; AND EXIT AT TXWY E.
