PLANNED FLT FROM GLS VFR. CALLED ASOS FOR CURRENT WX ANNOUNCEMENT AT BOTH GLS AND DEST. GLS WINDS WERE STATED TO BE 290 DEGS AT 6 KTS. DID PREFLT ON GRUMMAN AA1-B. STARTED ENG IN FRONT OF N HANGARS AND LISTENED TO ASOS AND WX; STILL RPTING 290 DEG AT 6 KTS. ANNOUNCED TO GLS UNICOM THAT WAS TAXIING FROM N HANGARS TO RWY 31. DID RUN-UP AND ENG FUNCTIONING NORMALLY. ANNOUNCED ON GLS UNICOM TO TAXI ONTO RWY 31 FOR IMMEDIATE DEP. WHILE TAXIING ONTO RWY LOOKED FOR TFC ON FINAL FOR BOTH RWYS 31 AND 13; PRIOR TO TAXIING ONTO RWY 31. CHKED TO SEE THAT BEACON AND LNDG LIGHT WERE SWITCHED ON AS TAXIED ONTO RWY. PAX NOTICED BEECHCRAFT TAXIING OF RWY 13 AT INTXNS OF RWYS. BEGAN TKOF ROLL AND TOOK OFF ON RWY 31. AT ABOUT 500 FT AGL NOTICED CESSNA ON R DOWNWIND APPARENTLY FOR RWY 13. THEN NOTICED ANOTHER ACFT ON TURNING L BASE; TURNING TO FINAL; FOR RWY 13. ANNOUNCED TO GLS UNICOM THAT WAS OVER-FLYING ACFT ON L BASE TO FINAL AND DEPARTING PATTERN TO THE W AT 750 FT. AT THIS TIME WAS TOLD THAT A TEMPORARY TWR WAS IN OP AND THAT INFO WAS IN NOTAMS. DUE TO LOW CEILINGS AND POOR VISIBILITY AT DEST; AS RPTED BY ASOS; RETURNED TOWARDS GLS. AT ABOUT 10 MI FROM ARPT; CONTACTED GLS UNICOM TO GET TEMPORARY TWR FREQ. CONTACTED TWR AND WAS TOLD TO RPT 3 MI OUT. ANNOUNCED 3 MI TO THE W AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO ENTER L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 13; CLRED TO LAND. REPEATED CLRED TO LAND INSTRUCTIONS. LANDED ON RWY 13 AND CLRED THE RWY. TWR ASKED WHERE TAXIING; RESPONDED N HANGARS. GIVEN PERMISSION TO TAXI TO RAMP. INSTRUCTED BY TWR TO PASS THE WORD THAT TEMPORARY TWR WAS FUNCTIONING ON 120.50 AND; IN THE FUTURE; ALWAYS CHK ALL NOTAMS.
