AFTER LNDG AND REQUESTING PROGRESSIVE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS; THE PLT OF A TAXIING KATANA DA40 EXPERIENCES A RWY INCURSION WHILE LOOKING FOR HIS FBO AT ABQ; NM.

Narrative

I WAS PREPARING TO LAND AT ABQ TO ATTEND A MEETING. I WAS PASSED TO ABQ APCH WHO ADVISED THAT I SHOULD EXPECT RWY 3 AND TO RPT THE ARPT/RWY IN SIGHT. I WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT I HAD AN ACFT IN FRONT OF ME AND 1 OR 2 BEHIND ME. I WAS XFERRED TO THE TWR AND REQUESTED TO KEEP MY SPD UP. I MAINTAINED 147 KTS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE TWR'S REQUEST. MY NORMAL APCH SPD IS 80 KTS. THE LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL AND I NOTIFIED THE TWR THAT I WAS PARKING AT THE FBO AND WOULD NEED DIRECTIONS TO THE FBO. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO EXIT THE RWY AT TXWY C AND THENCE TO THE FBO. BEING UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ARPT; I PROCEEDED TO ENTER TXWY C AND ATTEMPT TO LOCATE THE FBO. I CROSSED RWY 12/30 WHILE CONTINUING TO ATTEMPT TO LOCATE THE FBO. AS I APCHED RWY 8/26; I LOOKED TO MY L (W) AND NOTED AN ACFT APCHING. I ACCELERATED MY XING OF THE RWY JUST AS I HEARD A WOMAN; ON TWR FREQ; INSTRUCTING THE INCOMING ACFT TO 'GO AROUND SINCE THERE WAS A SMALL AIRPLANE WITH WHICH I HAVE NO CONTACT XING THE RWY.' I CALLED TWR AND SHE RESPONDED BY REQUESTING I 'DO A 180; RECROSS RWY 8/26 AND RWY 12/30 TO ARRIVE AT THE FBO.' I FOLLOWED HER INSTRUCTIONS AND LOCATED THE FBO. SHE ALSO REQUESTED THAT I CONTACT THE TWR AFTER I PARKED. I CALLED THE TWR AND SPOKE WITH TWR SUPVR WHO INFORMED ME THAT I HAD EXPERIENCED A RWY INCURSION AND REQUESTED MY TELEPHONE NUMBER FOR FURTHER CONTACT. I EXPLAINED THAT I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ARPT AND HAD NOT RECEIVED INSTRUCTIONS TO CONTACT GND. I BELIEVE THE INCOMING ACFT COULD HAVE LANDED SAFELY SINCE I WAS CLR OF THE RWY AND IT APPEARED THE INCOMING ACFT WAS IN A STABILIZED APCH AND FAR ENOUGH AWAY THAT I DID NOT PRESENT AN IMMINENT COLLISION CONCERN. THERE WAS INCOMPLETE GUIDANCE FROM TWR BY NOT PROVIDING PROGRESSIVE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO THE FBO. THERE WAS NO ATTEMPT BY TWR TO MAINTAIN CONTACT WITH ME AS I CONTINUED TAXIING ON TXWY C; HAD PASSED THE FBO AND CROSSED RWY 12/30. MY DECISION TO CROSS RWY 8/26 WITH LNDG ACFT IN SIGHT. I PLAN TO STOP AT ALL HOLD SHORT LINES UNLESS I RECEIVE POSITIVE XING CLRNC FROM TWR OR GND.
