Synopsis

A B737 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH A WING BODY OVERHEAT JOB CARD INCOMPLETE.

Narrative

CAME TO THE HANGAR FOR TROUBLESHOOTING OF WING TO BODY OVERHEAT LIGHT; MEL #X. JOB WAS ASSIGNED BECAUSE MY LEAD TECHNICIAN DECIDED TO WORK THE DISCREPANCY OFF A JOB CARD. I WORK AS AN A&P TECHNICIAN AT THE HANGAR-LINE. DURING THE MAINT PROCESS I ASSIGNED A JOB CARD X TO A JOB CARD Y FOR PARTIAL WORK ACCOMPLISHED. DAYSHIFT AVIONICS HANGAR LINE WAS INVOLVED IN THE TROUBLESHOOTING AND IT WAS DETERMINED IT WAS THEIR DISCREPANCY. I DOCUMENTED THE REMOVAL OF THE PANELS AND REINSTALLATION OF SOME OF THE PANELS ON THE JOB CARD X AND ASSIGNED THE JOB CARD X TO A JOB CARD Y. AT SHIFT TIE-IN I INFORMED THE A&P TECHNICIAN ABOUT THE JOB CARD X AND THE JOB CARD Y. THE SWING SHIFT LEAD COMPLETED THE INSTALLATION OF THE PANELS AND GAVE THE JOB CARD X TO THE AVIONICS TECHNICIAN. THE AVIONICS TECHNICIAN COMPLETED THE WORK THEY WERE DOING AND SIGNED OFF THE MEL ON THE NEXT JOB CARD Y IN THE LOGBOOK FAILING TO SEE I HAD ALREADY INITIATED A JOB CARD Y ON THE PRIOR PAGE. THE ACFT WAS MADE AIRWORTHY AND DEPARTED WITH THE JOB CARD Y INCOMPLETE.
