A LOW-TIME C182RG SINGLE PLT PORPOISED THE LNDG AT DPA WHICH CAUSED A GEAR EXTENSION PROB ON THE SUBSEQUENT LNDG.

Narrative

PRACTICING LNDGS; FULL STOP TAXI BACK; STAYED IN PATTERN WITH CTL TWR. MADE ONE NORMAL LNDG BEFORE EVENT OCCURRED. ARPT WAS BUSY; PER TWR; 'TAXI IN POS AND HOLD.' TWR RELEASED AND REQUESTED TO MAKE TURN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE; COMPLIED WITH REQUEST. TURNED DOWNWIND; BASE; TO SHORT FINAL. LANDED ON MAINS BUT FLARED TOO SOON; BOUNCED UP THEN LANDED AGAIN; BOUNCED; THEN DID A GAR NOT TRYING TO SAVE THE LNDG. ON GAR CYCLED GEAR UP FOR A CLEAN PLANE. DID THE GUMPS CHKLIST; DID NOT GET GREEN LIGHT FOR GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED. CHKED WING MIRROR; NOSEWHEEL NOT DEPLOYING; MAINS WERE LOCKED IN. FLEW WHILE TRYING TO CYCLE GEAR MANY TIMES. CHKED FUSES; WENT THROUGH CHKLIST AND EMER MANUAL DEPLOYMENT OF GEAR. FLEW TO BURN OFF FUEL; MADE DECISION TO LAND WITHOUT NOSE GEAR. DECLARED OFFICIAL EMER; MADE A SAFE LNDG WITHOUT THE NOSE GEAR. LANDED ON MAINS. NOSE GEAR WOULD NOT DEPLOY. NOSE GEAR DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN. CORRECTIVE ACTION: EITHER NOT COMPLY WITH CTL TWR REQUEST TO TURN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND FLY NORMAL RWY HDG AND TURN WHEN OWN DECISION IS MADE FOR NORMAL TIMING. OR WHEN MADE TURN REQUESTED BY TWR; SHOULD HAVE EXTENDED MY DOWNWIND TO GIVE A LONGER FINAL AND APCH WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER DEFINED. ALSO; AFTER 2ND BOUNCE WITH THE GAR; SHOULD NOT HAVE RETRACTED GEAR; THEN WOULD HAVE LANDED ON MAINS AND NOSE. BUT; AFTER THE FACT; THE NOSEWHEEL WAS FLAT. BY NOT KNOWING THE CONDITION OF THE NOSE GEAR; A NORMAL LNDG WOULD HAVE BEEN MADE. NOT EXPECTING FAILURE; SO THE OUTCOME OF A SAFE LNDG IS NOT KNOWN. HAVING THE GEAR DOORS FAIL GAVE TIME TO SET UP AND PREPARE FOR A SAFE EMER LNDG ON THE MAINS. NO INJURIES WERE INCURRED AND LNDG WAS WITHOUT INCIDENT.
