AN MD80 TECHNICIAN DETECTED AND CORRECTED AN AFT LAVATORY LEAK. MGMNT CENSURED THE TECHNICIAN FOR NOT USING A PUBLISHED JOB CARD.
Narrative
WHILE PERFORMING MY WALKAROUND ON ACFT ZZZ ON THE MORNING OF JUN/XA/04; I WAS APCHED BY A RAMP PERSON TO LET ME KNOW THAT HE NOTICED BLUE JUICE INSIDE THE AFT PIT. I NOTIFIED MY LEAD AND HELD BOARDING TO INVESTIGATE THE PROB. I WENT TO THE AFT LAVATORIES AND NOTICED BLUE JUICE ON THE FLOOR INSIDE THE AFT R-HAND LAVATORY. I PULLED THE SHROUD OUT AND NOTICED A FLUSH LINE DISCONNECTED FROM THE TOP OF THE LAVATORY MOTOR. I INSPECTED THE LINE; IT WAS GOOD AND FOUND THE SECURING CLAMP LOOSE AND LAYING ON TOP OF THE MOTOR. I RECONNECTED THE LINE AND SECURED THE CLAMP. I CALLED LAVATORY SVCS TO SVC THE LAVATORY TO DO A LEAK CHK WHILE HE WAS SVCING; AND THE LEAK CHK WAS GOOD. I FLUSHED THE LAVATORY SEVERAL TIMES; OPS AND LEAK CHK WERE GOOD. I CLEANED OUT ALL THE BLUE JUICE SPILL AROUND LAVATORY TANK AND FLOOR AREA AND CLOSED THE LAVATORY SHROUD. I CLEANED THE BLUE JUICE SPILL INSIDE THE AFT PIT AND GENERATED ANOTHER LOG PAGE #Y. NOW; TO COME BACK TO THE TASK CARD ISSUE; I CAN'T USE TASK CARD #X OR; FOR THAT MATTER; ANY OF OUR LAVATORY TASK CARDS; BECAUSE NONE OF THEM ADDRESS THE LEAK I HAD; OR THE LEAK CHK I HAD TO PERFORM. THE JOB I PERFORMED HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LAVATORY DRAIN VALVE; THE FILL CHK VALVE OR ANY OF THE DUMP CHUTE DOORS. THERE WAS NO EXTERNAL LEAK; VERT OR HORIZ STREAKS ON THE SIDE OF THE ACFT. THE PURPOSE OF THE FLUSH LINE THAT I SECURED IS ONLY TO FLUSH (RINSE) THE LAVATORY MOTOR WITH FRESH FLUID UPON EVERY LAVATORY SVCING.
