Narrative
UNSTABLE APCH AND CONTINUED LNDG. TSTMS IN FLORIDA CAUSED US TO DEVIATE ACROSS THE STATE UNPLANNED. WX ON THE N SIDE OF THE FIELD FORCED ALL TFC INTO A R (S) PATTERN FOR BOTH RWYS 9 AND 8L. HAD A LEARJET BELOW AND S OF US WHICH ATC TURNED UNDER OUR FLT PATH. PASSING THE LEAR (THAT ACFT WAS GOING TO RWY 8L WE WERE FOR RWY 9); WE WERE GIVEN LOWER ALTS. I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A 12+ NM FINAL BUT ATC TURNED US TO BASE AND INQUIRED WHEN WE HAD THE RWY IN SIGHT. MISJUDGED THE DISTANCE AND CONFIGURED TOO LATE FOR A STABILIZED APCH. DUE TO THE LOWER THAN PLANNED FUEL STATE AND THE CONCERN THAT THE FIELD WOULD CLOSE DUE TO WX; I ELECTED TO LAND. RWY 9 IS A LONG RWY AND I FELT IT ALLOWED THE SAFETY MARGIN TO CONTINUE THE LNDG. CERTAINLY NOT HOW I PREFERRED TO OPERATE THE FLT. I FIND THAT THIS SEQUENCE OF FLYING HAS ME TIRED STARTING THE VERY FIRST DAY AND I DO NOT SEEM TO RECOVER. AT HOME I DO NOT GET UP AS EARLY AS THIS TRIP REQUIRES AND AS I AGE I GUESS MY BODY CLOCK IS FIGHTING ME. I KNOW THAT MY REST STATE HAS BEEN NEGATIVELY IMPACTED ON EVERY ONE OF THESE SEQUENCES I HAVE FLOWN.
