BE35 PLT VIOLATES DEN CLASS B AIRSPACE DUE TO COM DIFFICULTIES AND WX AVOIDANCE.

Narrative

I HAD CALLED FSS TO FILE A VFR FLT PLAN. I FILED MY PLAN AND GOT A STANDARD WX BRIEFING. THE RPT STATED THAT DEN WAS IMC AND HE ADVISED TO DELAY DEP BY 45 MINS AS IT WAS LOOKING TO CLR. WE DISCUSSED FILING IFR BUT I DECIDED TO STAY VFR AND DELAY DEP. I TAXIED ONTO RWY 10 AND TOOK OFF. AT 900 FT WE ENCOUNTERED IMC CONDITIONS. I DEVIATED 45 DEGS TO THE NE TO REMAIN VFR. AFTER APPROX 2-3 MINS I HAD TO TURN/DEVIATE N TO GET OUT AND ABOVE THE CLOUD LAYER. AT THAT TIME I CONTACTED FSS. I MISTOOK THE FREQ FOR DEP. I CALLED 3 TIMES AND I FINALLY GOT A RESPONSE ASKING TO CONFIRM IF I WAS CALLING DEP OR FSS. AT THIS POINT I HAD ALREADY CLBED TO 7500 FT AND WAS FLYING DIRECT TO MY INITIAL NAV FIX. MY INTENTIONS WERE TO FILE IFR IMMEDIATELY AS I KNEW MY VFR FLT PATH WOULD PUT ME INTO A DANGEROUS AREA. AS MY 3RD RADIO CALL WAS FINALLY ANSWERED I ASKED FOR IFR CLRNC AND WAS DIRECTED TO DEP FREQ. BY THE TIME I GOT TO DEP I HAD VIOLATED CLASS B OF DEN. WE WERE FLYING OVER LAYERS SO THE GND WAS NOT VISIBLE. ONCE I REALIZED MY LOCATION; I IMMEDIATELY CALLED ON THE RADIO TO RPT MY LOCATION AND TO GET CLRNC SO THAT NO ONE WOULD PERCEIVE ME AS A THREAT. IT WAS AT THIS TIME I RPTED TO ATC I WAS IN THE WRONG PLACE. THE PROB AROSE BECAUSE I MISTOOK THE RADIO FREQ I WAS ON AND WHAT I COULD/COULD NOT DO THROUGH FSS. I WAS MAKING SURE I STAYED IN VFR CONDITIONS DURING CLBOUT AND I DID NOT THINK WHY MY RADIO CALLS WERE NOT BEING ANSWERED.
