Narrative
CRUISE FLT; THE R IRS FAULT LIGHT ILLUMINATED. QRH COMPLETED; FAULT LIGHT STILL ILLUMINATED. VFR LNDG UNEVENTFUL. CALLED MAINT CTL. HAD FILLED IN MOST OF THE BLOCKS OF THE DISCREPANCY SECTION; IE; PDIS; TAIL NUMBER; STATION; FLT NUMBER; EMPLOYEE NUMBER; BUT NOT THE ACTUAL DISCREPANCY VERBIAGE. MAINT CTL WANTED TROUBLESHOOTING HELP. I TURNED THE IRS'S OFF; PULLED THE 3 ADIRU CIRCUIT BREAKERS; REALIGNED THE IRS'S; NO FAULT LIGHTS; EVERYTHING NORMAL. SO I LINED OUT ALL THE ENTRIES; INITIALED ALL BUT DIDN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THE SIT; IE; NOT COMPLETING THE WRITE-UP. MAINT DUTY CTL LOOKED AT THE HISTORY AND NOTICED SIMILAR WRITE-UP THE WK BEFORE AND DECIDED A WRITE-UP WAS IN ORDER SO I WENT TO THE NEXT PAGE AND DID A COMPLETE WRITE-UP. MAINT FROM LAX WAS SUPPOSEDLY SENT WITH A NEW ADIRU. I SUPPOSE THE FAA WILL NIT PICK EITHER LOGBOOK PAGE; ESPECIALLY THE FIRST ONE BEING LINED OUT AND THE REASONS WHY THE FIRST WAS LINED OUT. SECOND IS; HOW FAR DO WE GO TO HELP MAINT; AND WHAT CAN WE DO AS PLTS THAT IS NOT CONSIDERED MECH ONLY ACTIONS; CONSIDERING HOW PWRING DOWN FIXES MANY ELECTRONIC PROBS?
