A319 FLT CREW ABORTED TKOF AT ORD AND REQUESTED EMER EQUIP.

Narrative

DURING THE TKOF ROLL; AT APPROX 120 KIAS THE CAPT ANNOUNCED SHE WAS ABORTING THE TKOF. I VERIFIED THE SPOILERS WERE DEPLOYED; THAT THE AUTOBRAKES WERE WORKING; AND THEN NOTIFIED THE TWR OF OUR POS AND THAT WE WERE ABORTING TKOF. I ASKED FOR THE TRUCKS TO BE ROLLED. AS WE CAME TO A STOP THE TWR ASKED IF WE HAD A VISUAL INDICATION OF FIRE. WE CHKED ALL OF OUR INDICATORS AND DETERMINED THAT WE DID NOT. WE THEN EXITED THE RWY AT TXWY GG AND TURNED ONTO TXWY H. WE CAME TO A STOP. WHILE THE CAPT HELD THE BRAKES I CONSULTED THE FLT MANUAL FOR LIMITATIONS. WE SHUT DOWN THE #2 ENG TO MAKE IT EASIER TO HOLD THE BRAKES. WE AGAIN INQUIRED ABOUT THE FIRE TRUCKS. THE TWR SAID HE DID NOT SEE ANY SIGN OF FIRE; BUT THAT HE WOULD SEND OVER AN ARPT TRUCK TO INSPECT OUR GEAR. AT THIS TIME WE CONTACTED DISPATCH TO SET UP A PHONE PATCH WITH MAINT. THE DISPATCHER HAD A DIFFICULT TIME GETTING IN TOUCH WITH MAINT. AFTER A SIGNIFICANT DELAY WE DETERMINED THAT IT WOULD BE BEST IF ACR MECHS WOULD COME OUT TO LOOK AT THE GEAR AND TOW US BACK TO THE GATE. AFTER ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT DELAY 2 MECHS CAME OUT. THEY CHKED OUR GEAR AND BRAKES. SINCE IT HAD BEEN NEARLY 40 MINS SINCE OUR ABORTED TKOF ATTEMPT; THE BRAKES HAD COOLED BELOW 300 DEGS AND IT WAS DETERMINED SAFE TO TAXI TO THE GATE.
