Narrative
I WAS CRUISING AT 9500 FT FROM KLAMATH FALLS; OR; DIRECT TO SOUTH TAHOE. ALTIMETER WAS SET TO 30.22; CURRENT SETTING FOR SOUTH TAHOE. CHEYENNE PA31T PASSED DIRECTLY OVERHEAD; MISSED BY ABOUT 100 FT. HAD GEAR AND FLAPS RETRACTED; NOSE DOWN; R WING UP. HE APCHED FROM 6 O'CLOCK POS; AND DEPARTED AT 12 O'CLOCK POS; IN A DIVING L TURN TOWARDS TRUCKEE ARPT. MY ACFT IS A HUEY (MEDIUM) HELI; PAINTED MOSTLY WHITE. NAV LIGHTS WERE ON BRIGHT-FLASH AND THE TOP-MOUNTED ANTI-COLLISION STROBE LIGHT WAS ON. THE MAIN ROTOR BLADES ARE PAINTED CONTRASTING COLORS AS PER REQUIREMENTS FOR BETTER VISIBILITY. I OBSERVED PA31T ENTER A L DOWNWIND AND LAND ON RWY 28 AT TRUCKEE. WHEN HE HAD CLRED THE RWY I CALLED HIM ON UNICOM AND TOLD HIM I WAS THE PLT OF THE HELI HE HAD NEARLY HIT AND ASKED HIM IF HE HAD MEANT TO COME SO CLOSE OR IF HE HAD FAILED TO SEE ME. I ALSO INFORMED HIM I WAS TRANSITING THE AREA AT 9500 FT. THE PLT BLAMED THE INCIDENT ON ME; SINCE I HAD NOT MADE A POS RPT. I REPLIED THAT AT 2600 FT AGL AND TRANSITING THE AREA A POS RPT IS NOT APPROPRIATE AND SUGGESTED HE KEEP A BETTER WATCH FOR TFC. HE DID NOT REPLY. THE OTHER PLT'S ATTITUDE STINKS. HE WAS; IN MY OPINION; MAKING A 'HOT-DOG' APCH WITH NO REGARD TO OTHER TFC.
