Narrative
WE WERE COMING BACK EMPTY FROM MDW ON AN IFR FLT PLAN. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT PYM; THE CONDITIONS WERE AROUND 50 MI VISIBILITY AND A CEILING OF MORE THAN FL250. WE WERE AROUND 10 MI OUT FROM PYM WHEN ATC ASKED IF WE HAD THE ARPT IN SIGHT. WE SAID WE DID; AND THEY CLRED US FOR THE VISUAL APCH. WE THEN PROCEEDED TO CANCEL OUR IFR FLT PLAN AND WENT OVER TO UNICOM TO ANNOUNCE OUR INTENTIONS. THEN WIND WAS FAVORING RWY 33; IT WAS BLOWING 360 DEGS AT 5 KTS; BUT THE RWY IS ONLY 3300 FT LONG; SO WE DECIDED TO LAND ON RWY 6 WHICH IS 4380 FT. MY FIRST CALL; SINCE I WAS THE PNF; WAS AT 8 MI OUT. I SAID WE WERE ON AN 8 MI L MODIFIED BASE FOR RWY 6; AND IF THERE WAS ANY TFC IN THE AREA TO PLEASE ADVISE. I DID NOT HEAR ANYTHING AND I DID NOT SEE ANYTHING ON TCASII SO WE PROCEEDED. MY NEXT CALL WAS ON A 4 MI FINAL FOR RWY 6 AND AGAIN I ASKED IF THERE WAS ANY TFC IN THE AREA TO PLEASE ADVISE. AND AGAIN I DID NOT HEAR ANYTHING. MY LAST CALL WAS WHEN WE WERE ON SHORT FINAL; LESS THAN 1 MI FROM RWY 6; AND I SAID SHORT FINAL LNDG RWY 6. WHEN WE LANDED; THE THRUST REVERSERS WERE DEPLOYED AND SO WERE THE SPD BRAKES. MY CO-PLT THEN STARTED TO USE THE WHEEL BRAKES AND WE WERE DECELERATING THROUGH 80 KTS; WHEN OUT OF THE CORNER OF MY EYE UP IN FRONT OF US; I SAW A C172 START TO TAXI PAST THE RWY HOLD SHORT LINES OF RWY 6. THE C172 WAS INTENDING ON XING RWY 6 TO GET TO RWY 33 FOR TKOF. NOT ONCE DID THE C172 MAKE ANY COMS TO ANNOUNCE HIS INTENTIONS. I SCRAMBLED FOR THE MIKE SWITCH AND SAID 'ACFT HOLD; HOLD; HOLD.' THE C172 SLAMMED ON HIS BRAKES AND WE WENT BY HIM MISSING EACH OTHER BY 10 FT.
