Narrative
DURING DSCNT; ABOUT 45 MINS FROM LNDG; I HAD JUST ARRIVED INTO THE COCKPIT FROM MY REST PERIOD. WHEN I SAT DOWN IN THE FO'S SEAT; THE CAPT IMMEDIATELY ADVISED ME OF THE N2 VIBRATION IN THE L ENG. THE N2 INDICATION VARIED FROM 5.0 TO 2.3 APPROX AT VARIOUS THROTTLE POS DURING THE APCH. DURING THE VECTOR TO FINAL FOR THE ILS RWY 27R; I NOTICED AND RELAYED TO THE REST OF THE CREW THAT WERE RAPIDLY LOSING OIL IN THE L ENG. THE CAPT TOLD THE RELIEF PLT TO GET OUT THE FLT MANUAL AND REVIEW SINGLE ENG OPS. DURING THE TIME THE CAPT TALKED TO THE RELIEF PLT WE HAD JOINED THE LOC; THE L ENG OIL QUANTITY WENT TO ZERO; THE N2 VIBRATION REMAINED AT 5.0; THE ENG OIL PRESSURE DROPPED TO 90 DEGS AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER; WENT TO RED AND THE WARNING FOR L ENG LOW OIL PRESSURE CHKLIST ILLUMINATED. I ACCOMPLISHED THE CHKLIST; SHUT DOWN THE L ENG; DECLARED AN EMER TO APCH CTL; ACCOMPLISHED THE LNDG CHKLIST; AND ASKED THE RELIEF PLT IF EVERYTHING LOOKED CORRECT. DURING THIS SAME TIME THE RELIEF PLT TALKED TO THE PURSER AND TOLD HER TO ACCOMPLISH A 'CABIN ADVISORY;' AND HE MADE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE PAX. THE LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL. THE ACFT WAS STOPPED ON THE TXWY WHILE THE CFR CREWS LOOKED AT THE L ENG. NO DAMAGE OR FIRE INDICATIONS WERE FOUND AND THE TAXI TO THE GATE WAS UNEVENTFUL.
