AN A320 FLT CREW STATE THAT FATIGUE WAS INVOLVED IN THEIR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ATC DEP CLRNC.

Narrative

THE LEG INBOUND WAS WORK INTENSIVE WITH AIRBORNE HOLDING AND TSTM AVOIDANCE ON THE ARR. WE WERE LATE AND OPS WAS DOING A QUICK TURN (26 MINS). I HAD TO MAKE A CALL AT THE GATE TO COMPANY SCHEDULING TO VERIFY WE WERE LEGAL TO FLY TO 16 HRS DUTY. I CONFIRMED THAT AND GOT FOOD FOR THE REST OF MY CREW WHO COULD NOT GET OFF THE PLANE. OUR ORIGINAL SCHEDULED DUTY DAY WAS 13:30. WE WERE ALREADY APCHING 14 HRS. WHEN I ENTERED THE COCKPIT; I THOUGHT I HEARD THE FO CONFIRM A WHITESTONE CLB WITH CLRNC DELIVERY. IT WAS HIS LEG TO FLY AND HE BRIEFED THE WHITESTONE CLB. WE TAXIED OUT AND WERE ABOUT 50 FOR TKOF. GND CTLR WAS VERY BUSY AND WOULD NOT GIVE TAXI TIME ESTIMATES; SO WE FIGURED BOTH MINIMUM TKOF FUEL TIME AND DUTY TIME DEADLINES. I COORDINATED WITH CREW SCHEDULING TO GET RELIEF FROM A MINIMUM OVERNIGHT SO WE WOULD HAVE ADEQUATE REST. AFTER A TAXI TIME OF 1:30 I HAD THE FO DO ANOTHER FULL DEP BRIEF SINCE SO MUCH TIME HAD TRANSPIRED. HE BRIEFED WHITESTONE. HE THEN FLEW A BEAUTIFUL WHITESTONE DEP. CTL SAID WE WERE CLRED FOR A CONEY CLB. I PICKED UP THE PRINTOUT AND TO MY ASTONISHMENT IT SAID CONEY. FACTORS INVOLVED BEING LATE; DOING A QUICK TURN; AND FATIGUE. WE ENDED UP AT 15:30 ON DUTY AND 9:30 HARD TIME.
