DISTRACTED BY FMC PROGRAMMING DIFFICULTY AND PREOCCUPIED WITH PERSONAL ISSUES REGARDING THE FINANCIAL STATE OF THEIR ACR; FLT CREW OF A B767 OVERSHOT CLRED ALT ON DEP FROM FLL.
Narrative
I DEP FLL RWY 27 ON MY ASSIGNED HDG OF 270 DEGS AND AN ASSIGNED ALT OF 3000 FT. DEP CTL GAVE CLRNC TO TURN 350 DEGS HDG; CLB TO 5000 FT; AND INTERCEPT FLL9 DEP ARKES TRANSITION. AFTER THE TURN WAS ESTABLISHED; THE FO ARMED LNAV. LNAV CAPTURED AND A TURN W OF 350 DEGS WAS COMMANDED. WHILE APCHING 5000 FT; THE FO WAS RESETTING FMS; AND I (OVERSHOT) CLBED ABOVE THE ASSIGNED ALT BY 400 FT. I THEN LOWERED THE NOSE AND RETURNED TO 5000 FT. THERE WAS NO TFC CONFLICT. I ENGAGED THE AUTOPLT TO REDUCE THE WORKLOAD. THE MAIN PROB WITH THIS OCCURRENCE WAS THAT FACT THAT I WAS MENTALLY PREOCCUPIED WITH THE FINANCIAL STATE OF THE AIRLINE COMMUNITY AND MY ACR; AND RETIREMENT PENSION REFORM. IF I HAD ENGAGED THE AUTOPLT SOONER; THE OVERSHOOT WOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED. THERE HAD BEEN MUCH DISCUSSION THAT MORNING ON THE NEWS AND WITH OTHER CREW MEMBERS AND I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE AWARE OF MY DEGRADED PERFORMANCE. I DO NOT THINK THERE IS ANY WAY TO PREVENT PREOCCUPATION. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 672108: DURING HAND FLOWN CLB; CREW WAS DISTRACTED BY FMS ANOMALY DUE TO PARALLEL HDG ASSIGNED TO TRANSITION.
