Synopsis

RNAV EQUIPPED B737 LOSES RNAV SID TRANSITION WAYPOINTS WHEN THE RWY IS CHANGED PRIOR TO TKOF.

Narrative

THE CAPT RECEIVED THE ATC CLRNC. THE CAPT ENTERED THE NOBLY 2 RNAV DEP AND OUR RTE OF FLT INTO THE FMC. I CHECKED THE SID AND RTE OF FLT. I ADVISED THE CAPT THAT THE COBUG AND ORTRO INTERSECTIONS WERE NOT IN THE FMC. THE CAPT STATED THAT THE LIT TRANSITION WAS INCLUDED IN THE SID. DFW GND HAD US CONTACT 'QUEUE CTL' TO ADVISE OF OUR FMC SELECTED RWY; HDG AND FIRST FIX. DFW 'QUEUE' CTL AND US AGREED WITH MY FMC READING. TKOF; CLB; FLYING THE NOBLY 2 SID WAS UNEVENTFUL UNTIL E OF NOBLY INTERSECTION. WE WERE HANDED OFF TO FORT WORTH CTR. A FORT WORTH CTR CTLR ASKED IF WE WERE SHOWING ON COURSE. I STATED THAT WE WERE ON COURSE. THE CTLR STATED THAT HE SHOWED US N OF COURSE HEADING DIRECT TO LITTLE ROCK. I AGREED THAT WE WERE HEADING DIRECT TO LIT. THE CTLR ASKED IF WE WERE PROCEEDING TO 'COBUG' OR 'ORTRO.' I CHECKED AND VERIFIED NEITHER 'COBUG' OR 'ORTRO' WERE ON OUR RNAV SID IN THE FMC. WE WERE THEN CLRED DIRECT TO ORTRO LIT AS FILED. THE REST OF THE FLT WAS UNEVENTFUL. THE CTLR STATED THAT THIS PARTICULAR TRANSITION HAS HAD SEVERAL PROBS DUE TO PROGRAMMING ERRORS. I BELIEVE THE PROB WAS DUE TO CONSTANT INTERRUPTIONS IN THE COCKPIT WHEN DISCUSSING THE LIT TRANSITION ON THE NOBLY 2 RNAV DEP WITH THE CAPT. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE ASSERTIVE WITH THE CAPT WHEN DISCUSSING THE SID AND TRANSITION. I SHOULD HAVE RECHKED THE TRANSITION SID PRIOR TO PUSHBACK.SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 673481: I PROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER FOR THE NOBLY 2 DEP FROM DFW. HAD PUT IN A NORTHERN TAKEOFF BUT CHANGED IT TO A SOUTHERN TAKEOFF DURING TAXI.
