Narrative
AFTER LNDG ON RWY 9R; I EXITED THE RWY AT THE END TO THE N ON TXWY S1 AND WAS TOLD TO TAXI ON TXWY S EBOUND. I DIDN'T SEE ANY SIGNS INDICATING TXWY S; SO I STOPPED AND ASKED CTLR; AFTER LOOKING AT TAXI CHART; IF I SHOULD MAKE A HARD R TURN OR MAKE THE 45 DEG ANGLE TXWY AHEAD AND TO THE R. THE CTLR TOLD ME TO CONTINUE ON TXWY M AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 9L. I CONTINUED TAXIING; LOOKING FOR THE HOLD LINE; LOOKING FOR THE RED SIGN WITH WHITE NUMBERS; AND LOOKING FOR AMBER LIGHTS AT SIDE OF THE TXWY OR IN TXWY AT HOLD SHORT LINE; AND SAW NONE OF THEM. WHEN I SAW THE RWY SIDE LINE; I STOPPED ABOUT 15 FT SHORT OF RWY. THE CTLR ASKED ME IF I WAS HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 9L. I REPLIED YES. THE CTL THEN TOLD A DEPARTING ACFT TO CANCEL TKOF CLRNC. I THEN REPLIED THAT I WAS CLR OF RWY 9L. AFTER ACR EXITED RWY; THE CTLR THEN CLRED ME TO CROSS RWY 9L R ON TXWY K. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT CONSTRUCTION HAS BEEN ONGOING IN THE TAXI AREA AND FEEL THAT IF SOME SIGNS WERE MISSING OR INOP; THE TXWYS SHOULD BE BLOCKED OFF; AND NOT USED. THE WINDSHIELD WAS WET; AS WAS THE TXWY. THIS ADDED TO REDUCED VISIBILITY. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 675457: THE VISIBILITY THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD IS GREAT WHEN IT IS DRY. HOWEVER; IT IS ALMOST ALWAYS WET AFTER ANY FLT. IT GETS COLD SOAKED EASILY. I BELIEVE FOGGY WINDSHIELDS ARE A SERIOUS PROB IN 20 SERIES LEAR JETS.
