SEP/THU/05 AT TACT TIME 1045.3; ACFT TOTAL TIME OF 1045.3. AT SMOH 458.4 COMPLETED 100 HR INSPECTION. SVCED WITH 10 QUARTS AEROSHELL 15-50; INSTALLED NEW CH48 OIL FILTER. COMPRESSION TEST: #1 75/80; #3 78/80; #5 76/80; #2 78/80; #4 75/80; #6 75/80. COMPLIED WITH ALL AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES TO DATE. ENG RUN SATISFACTORY; NO LEAKS NOTED. ENG RETURNED TO SVC PER 100 HR INSPECTION. OWNER TOOK DELIVERY OF ACFT. OWNER FLEW ACFT 11.3 HRS WITH NO LEAKS OR DISCREPANCIES. OWNER ON OCT/FRI/05 LESS THAN 24 HRS AFTER ACFT WAS FLOWN 11 HRS; ACFT FLEW FOR 10 MINS WITH ENG FAILURE AND EMER LNDG ON HWY WITH NO DAMAGE TO ACFT AND NO INJURIES TO PLT AND PAX. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE AIRPLANE WAS NOT DAMAGED IN THE OFF-FIELD LNDG AND NO INJURIES WERE INCURRED. THE ENG FAILED DUE TO LOSS OF ENG OIL. THE LOSS OF THE ENG OIL WAS CAUSED BY A CRACKED OIL COOLER. THE AIRPLANE HAD 11.3 HRS ON THE ENG AFTER THE 100 HR INSPECTION WITH A TOTAL TIME SINCE ENG OVERHAUL OF 469.7 HRS.
